I think your problem may just be the router problem. I believe modem belongs to unifi and if found faulty, it will be replaced by unifi. As for router, you can easily buy one reasonably good router for approx RM250 Currently there are so many goodies for unifi users...

If you choose to go maxis, you may also ended up with the "lousy" Techicolor router.
