I've been an avid user of the forum for over a decade - I have no complains about the ads that have been introduced, but my problem is how the adverts are loading on the index pages. For example, try loading https://forum.lowyat.net/Kopitiam via mobile on the mobile version and you'll notice the forum loads in 3 stages:
1st stage - forum index (thread titles/ links/ etc), pre-advert
2nd stage - Blank space for advert generates and loads on top section of page (boxed in red below)

3rd stage - Advert loads, and the advert space is re-adjusted

I'm not sure about others, but the constant loading and re-loading of the advert space causes the height of the forum to fluctuate.
Previously, without the ads - I used to be able to click on any links I need to view and be directed to the respective page (while the forum was still loading)

Now, with the 2nd and 3rd stages - I have to wait for the forum to completely load, or cancel loading to be able to click on links I had intended to, otherwise if I try clicking while these 2 stages are still ongoing, 99% of the time I click on the wrong links because the height of the forum changes.

I am not against having adverts on the forum, I just feel this can be improved.
Any way of having a fixed advert space loaded within the 1st stage?

Sekian.

ok, can't seem to replicate this on all our test devices. it loads immediately without any of the stages you mentioned.

Anybody else having this issue?

Thanks for reverting.

Not sure if this helps but I'm on Huawei Ascend Mate 7.
Tried on both Mozilla and Chrome - both appear to face this issue.

Can you try loading on data iso wifi? On data, the difference is much easily seen due to longer page loading time.

ok, still can't replicate, but based on your findings, we have set the container to a fixed height - irrespective of ad size, so it shouldn't cause any jumping issues.

let me know if it works better now.

No issue on mine. Htc with chrome.

Only some ads in the past macam making the LYN page froze.

Very annoying when the moment I want to tap on a link, the site readjust and I tap on the wrong one.

P/s: before recent update there is the 'show user's post in this thread' link but now no more sad.gif

se7en has already fixed this.
You shouldn't be seeing this issue anymore.

I don't have this problem. But now after se7en has adjusted the size of ads, I'm using adblock and I get this big white box that wouldn't go away and it's taking up space.
