QUOTE(MR_alien @ Nov 27 2017, 10:31 AM) refer to my posting above, that one is direct from sutera sactuary lodge Not really all is sutera sanctuary, another budget option is lemaing hut which is owned by Sabah Park.sabahan rate is RM150 nett, no minimum pax(i dn't know where u heard that from) and its full for 2018 malaysian price is RM750 nett(refer above) why sutera sactuary lodge?, because every booking u see on FB or anywhere has to go though them all the accommodation on laban rata are own by them.... booking with them is direct booking booking via other party is considered 3rd party the ones u saw at FB are most prolly scalped by 3rd party for resell For budget trip, can opt lemaing hut for laban rata stay and get nearby homestay for ground which is definitely cheaper. For guide, you can always get one when you register for your climb at the sabah park counter when you at the park. For permit, is secure once you booked your accommodation at laban rata. As i aware, 1 day climb is not permitted anymore so to get a accommodation at laban rata is a must. So far for laban rata accommodation, you can either opt for sutera sanctuary or Sabah park. Sutera sanctuary got multiple choice of rooms and Sabah park only sharing dorm named lemaing hut. Heard new accommodation is under construction which they may issue more permit for the climb. Lastly my info is updated as per early this year. |

QUOTE(MR_alien @ Nov 27 2017, 11:23 AM) funny how lemaing hut is also full already Ya, seem nowadays many going for the climb. Last year, i'm still able to secure slot 3 months in advance but now the booking need a year.guide is always available at kinabalu park RM230/guide(can be shared) permit, cert, insurance, guide all paid at the day of your climb...no problem day climb is still available but not advisable have to start really early, arrive before noon at the top thn get back down will suffer altitude sickness even for the fittest I request to logged in waiting list for period Mar-June 2018, but doubt if they really got a waiting list. BTW, i found renting a car for 4 person in a group seem cheaper option for transportation from town to the park. Well, only valid for those with driving license and still got the energy to drive back after the hike. |

Back to the topic.
My rough estimation cost for the climb: Homestay at nearby park - RM50 L.B Lemaing Hut - RM260 (include permit and insurance) Guide - RM46 (sharing in a group of 5) Transport - RM85 (4days car rental sharing in a group of 5) Hotel in town - RM200 (2night town stay in 3* hotel twin sharing) Total Damage - 5d4n RM641/person ( travel in group) Above based on self organize trip 5d4n, as i always opt for 2 night rest at town after hike and you can always enjoy cheap seafood at Sabah. |
