the approximate number is stated on the screen, why do u need to check? further, it depends on how you use the camera and the lens you are using. if you are using VR lens, it will consume more power.

shoot RAW and just use auto white balance.
but for one day wedding shoot about 500 RAW image or more and then process each RAW image one by one, this can take up 2-3 days staying in front of your computer to do the colour corection, adjustment,  composition etc. i think this is the best way, need a lot passion and panadol too. 1st must learn RAW editing.
0ne more thing storage requirements are a bit steeper.

Tutorial. White Balance
why need to set ur shutter to 135 if u r using 135mm lens?

he is trying to present the rule of thumb. me too was not too sure on how to explain this.

the theory behind is to use 1.5-2 times of the focal length as shutter speed.

means, if your focal length is 85mm, it is advisable to use 1/125 shutter speed to prevent blurry image.

just my 0.02cents
