Just saw this armor for D80. Obiviously it's for protecting the D80, but the question is how much impact can the rubber armor takes?

Guys, you can check out the armor from here D80 Armor

I do think that it will make the D80 extra bulky
*
Does the question of how much impact can the rubber armor takes matter? I dun think you'll use the D80 to bang on wall or carrying out the drop test even with the rubber armor on. laugh.gif

For a used Nikon 50mm 1.8d it's best to look for it here http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/ftz/index.php? Search for Nikon 50mm, it will give you all the results.
*
I think can just get a new one for f/1.8, cause the cheapest price I saw for a used unit is just RM300. Just RM50 less for a used unit? I dun think its worth it. Just my 2 cents though. icon_rolleyes.gif

I have no choice  cool2.gif , only lens kit 18-70 so I often use 18mm and sometime zoom when shot poitrait
18-200 is great ?
*
18-200 VR is a great lens for traveling, a lot of flexibility, wide and tele with VR, all in one lens. I own one myself and it stick to my camera all the times. thumbup.gif
70-300 VR is a great lens too, if you need the long tele 300mm, bird photographing a lot, then obviously go get it. If not, dun get it, 70-300mm range is not very useful as you'll have to be quite a distance from your photographing subject. Just my 2 cents! icon_rolleyes.gif

QUOTE(ntlam @ Nov 9 2007, 12:49 AM)
i asked that question because a lot of people evaluate Tamron 90mm macro, nikon 105mm is also nice but it is not said as much as Tamron.
but do you think when we collect a few lenses, if they're same company, it will be easier to add other tools such as converter?
and last, calvin_gsc, you haven't maked me as a friend in Flickr.com  vmad.gif
*
Because Tamron 90mm macro is cheaper and more affordable compared to Nikkor 105mm micro, some more Nikkor 105 micro is discontinued to make way for Nikkor 105 VR. Tamron 90 macro is the lightest longer reach macro lens. icon_rolleyes.gif I'm hoping to get one macro lens, but undecided between Tamron 90 macro and Sigma 70 macro! hmm.gif

QUOTE(calvin_gsc @ Nov 9 2007, 02:14 AM)
I kinda agree on that. This person very "siu hei". Easily get angry.

I think he's not angry lah, maybe just he didnt expressed it well. laugh.gif

Hi otai D80...
Im newbie in DSLR world and need ur opinion...

I want to buy DSLR end of this month,
so my choice is Nikon D80, but i have a tight budget, about RM4000.

So as beginner @ rookie, plz guide me...
What lens that suit with my budget that have AF and VR?
Or i just buy D80 kit instead D80 body with choosen lens?
My purpose buy this camera?
To take photos of  wedding function, school events and landscapes...

Or if anyone wanna let go their D80 plz pm me ya.
Maybe i jump too fast from Canon s3is to D80...
But my interest/hobby cant stop me for getting this camera...

TQVM!
Really appreciate all of ur helps....  smile.gif
*
If your budget is RM4k, I dun think it is enough to go for D80 unless you are getting an used unit. I saw in Free Trade Zone, someone is selling used unit D80 + Tamron 17-50mm at RM4.3k! Quite a good combination which suits your purposes! Just my 2 cents! icon_rolleyes.gif

Thanks, Lam! icon_rolleyes.gif

norazwan79: Come to think of it, I'm exactly same as you. Upgrading from S3 IS to D80 in end of June. Till now, never regret a single moment with it! I bought the D80 kit for RM4.4k by installment, more expensive compared to everyone, I think! sweat.gif

MF on day time shud be no prob unless it was night ... AF needed badly smile.gif
*
Aik?Why night time need AF more geh? hmm.gif I thought night time AF will perform badly cause it hunts a lot due to low-light condition. Instead if you use MF, you can easily lock focus on your subject and with bigger viewfinder, 95% for D80 or D200 above, you can manual focus with your eyes easily. icon_rolleyes.gif

QUOTE(zzloo @ Nov 9 2007, 09:13 PM)
Tamron lenses sure la ok, lots of sifu class ppl oso using it! Cheap n good!
*
For Tamron lenses, the only lens that most discuss and used that I know is Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 and Tamron SP 90mm macro. The rest never quite heard bout them. hmm.gif

I have never done much research on macro lenses and I don't take much macro.

I have seen photos and read about the tamron 90mm. So, I'd thought of getting one If I can.

I have also heard about the Nikon 105mm VR and the 60mm.

Never heard about the sigmas.
*
The Sigma 70mm macro got the TIPA award this year, but din heard anything much bout the lens. I wonder why? hmm.gif
