Hey, Click and Snap from penang quoted me RM80 for it. But haven't count mailing fees.

High Speed cards perform significantly faster on the D80.

If you use reversing ring, you get better Depth Of Field (DOF) for macro because it's 1:1, it you use close up ring, u will lose your DOF. Using extension tube you will lose a lot of light.

However for reversing ring, you wont be able to focus, as the lens is mounted the other way round.

Try using Google for more info. icon_idea.gif

one is to decrease the minimum focus distance
another is to increase the working distance

Before i read on the link above , does that mean reversing ring focus distance is Infinity ?
No focusing and the thing move is the camera and distance ?

1. depends on the waterfall "speed", but most importantly, how "silky" u wanna have it to be. 5 sec, 10 sec.
2. depending on the shutter speed u used, maybe sumwhere below 16, or above
3. if have, use also good. like the ND filter
4. depends on how steady ur hand is.

You need to manually focus by moving back and forth with the reversed mount adapter. That's how I shoot macro in 1:1 anyway.

I think it's better to use a tripod with low shuttle speed. Aperture wise i would use a smaller aperture to capture a sharper image of the surrounding. I suggest that u try snapping a few shots with different shuttle speed, start with 2, 5, 10 sec to see different effect of the silkiness of the flowing water. Just my 2 cents. blush.gif

Added on August 6, 2007, 12:08 amHi Calvin,

I'm planning to get the flash gun for my D80 before my next trip. I've been reading a lot about the SB600 and SB800 and i still can't decide on which i should be getting. Can you give me some tips? Thanks.

Well bro, if you really have the budget, get the Sb-800, you wont go wrong with it. it will guarantee that you wont need anymore upgrade.

SB-800 is good to control multiple flash guns at once to benefit from Nikon's CLS (pls google it).

besides that, sb-800 has stronger flash output which can give u better distance.

It also comes with a whole lot of accessories. thumbup.gif

You mentioned "trip", what trip?

if i was going for a trip, i wont bring my flash.

Yeah, i know the mighty SB-800 is good but it's kinda expensive for me now. I'm planning on a trip to Australia. I would need the flash for some night portrait shots. So far the cheapest price i survey is RM1350. I'm wondering if i can get cheaper in Singapore.

Well, if you really need it, then go for it lor.

Night portrait? what kinda condition/location?

If I go on trip, i'd just use builtin flash. Dont wanna bring so many gear around.

I'm thinking of using it in an extremely low light condition. Like at a place where there's no streetlights. And also will use it in my friends wedding dinner, when the couples having their wedding march into the ballroom. The ballroom will be too dark for the built-in flash. Will use it for low light in-door portrait shots too.

like calvin said, i wont bring flash to an oversea trip. not many occasion for such low light situations to justify the weight and hassle

But then again, now u mention a wedding dinner, a speedlight is a MUST.
remember to get a Lightsphere to go along with it.

have budget - SB800
not that much budget - SB600

not pure poison ler....
there will be situations esp functions inside a hall, where a speedlight is a MUST
if u plan to skip indoors altogether, then speedlight is just a $$ burden

but u bought ur cam dee, you wanna let go of all those shots meh? whistling.gif

Thanks for the advices guys.. Maybe it's a better idea to travel light this time. hmm.gif

I still remember my last shots at my friends wedding dinner. Without the speedlight, my shots turned bad when the couples are marching in. Maybe i just save up for the SB800 instead.

So I'm pro-wannabe liao sweat.gif

I would rather get 2 X sb600 than 1 X sb800. With the D80/D200, that'd give you 3 flashes including built-in flash, lots and lots of things you can play with.

I actually thought of this before. Getting a more affordable sb600 now.. then get the sb800 in the future and use it as the commander to sync with sb600. Hmm.. drool.gif
