Wait...if you buy a bike, you need it to be registered & roadtaxed.

If you need it to be roadtaxed, you need it to be insured.

If you need it to be insured, don't you need a license?

Interesting question. Can you buy it but register under someone else's name?

Owning a bike got NOTHING to do with having a riding license (B2 or B Full). thumbup.gif Simple.

But to ride it legally, then you'll need a valid license. whistling.gif

Errr.... no point insuring a bike that has no human riding it, right?

If I'm not mistaken, all insurance policies require an owner/rider to be designated. And that person must be qualified to ride. Then you can add an all-rider clause (and pay through your nose).

That's as far as I understand lah.

But if anyone has experience otherwise, I'm keen to know.

But won't the owner have to buy insurance for it? Can an owner insure a motor vehicle he cannot operate?

Insurance policy need a name.. it just a name for the insurance purpose.. if anything happen the money goes to the owner.. it has nothing to do either got license or not..

other people also can drive the bike and accident.. and claim will be goes back to the owner not the accident person.. as the insurance is cover for the bike not the driver...

Insurance for protection. As for bike, can take all riders policy. Anybody with a valid license can ride it. Sure the owner can claim (total lost, etc) provided that the rider is licensed. thumbup.gif

Of course the owner can insure the motor. Did that to my kapchai before. Registered under my wife's name (no riding license). All good. thumbup.gif

Yup. Not many bike shop willing to give loan if the buyer had no riding license.
