I wish they come out with a successor to Redmi 4 Prime for global release. I hate the enormous size of my Redmi Note 4X currently. Hardly can fit into a pocket. Even it does, it really takes the space inside and makes my movement a bit stiff.

redmi 5 will be 5.7" 18:9 apparently(so normal 5" size), also smaller battery so will be lighter too, those 4k battery phones damn heavy. I target that phone, sad will need wait next year to get in malaysia.

SoC seems good to me but the screen size though. With that size, they probably make it wider or longer. The latter seems more realistic. Why can't they just retain the original screen size while reducing the phone size in overall? I wished they did that. And full hd.
*
From now on all phones will be 18:9, 16:9 will be hard to sell. You compare them side by side at shops then you'll understand.

Just check the dimensions. From personal experience smaller battery same weight will feel lighter.

Redmi 5 151.8 x 72.8 x 7.7 mm, and it weighs 157g

Redmi 4x 139.2 x 70 x 8.7 mm 150g

Redmi note 4 151 x 76 x 8.5 mm 165 g

Also if they don't raise price, can get bezelless, you want full hd some more? tongue.gif That vivo v7 priced at 1k+, if I have to make a guess redmi internals will be using similar to that except for camera.

Just got my hands on Vivo v7. With its similar size to Redmi 5(and specs too!), I might ditch my Redmi note 4. Can't wait for Redmi 5 to launch here! Only if it has 1080p resolution, that might could become a definite biggrin.gif

How is v7? The screen good? Eyes feel tired after long usage? Vivo phone can check the screen supplier? The size nice to hold?

I've been reading tieba seems like most bought the redmi 5+, not much comment on the 5. 5+ is using tianma incell screen same screen as honour v10, quite good apparently. Wonder how long have to wait for MY warranty unit... 😑

Now Android phone is like that one, half of ram will be reserved. It automatically preload frequently used apps to launch quicker thats why stock android even try to hide that information, it's no use to look at it.

Just don't follow some of the bad advice on internet like disable miui optimization, makes things worse.

i dont think R5 worth buying. seems to have a very weak processor, low ram/rom oso.
*
What weak processor, 450 is only 625 with slightly lower clocks. 2gb ram though definitely not enough but at 499 good phone for old people. I surprised at 499 price, so cheap.

Are there the peoplle who have this model here? My friend works as a consultant in a hardware store and tells that the display of this phone fades badly and the phone itself works a bit slowly. Is it true about the screen or not?
*
he thought redmi 5a is it? This phone's screen especially the plus one should be nice.
