All I know is, in high resolution Hi Fi system, different cables sometime do sounded differently. In fact, many people do hear a difference. Just because we do not know the reason why does not necessarily mean that should not happen.
Therefore I am open minded about this HDMI thing. But I do not want to open up a can of worm so never bother comparing whether this is ore there isn't any difference.

QUOTE(ronaldkwok @ Apr 13 2011, 09:18 AM) This topic has been discussed to death. The general view is that any HDMI cable will either work or it doesn't and it does not add or take away anything from the digital data regardless of the cost as long as it works. There is a difference in the physical aspect, an expensive one will probably look much better and MAY last longer than the cheaper variety with frequent handling and pluging in and out. Just my view. I always use the word "difference" and never use the word "expensive sounded better". No such thing. As for whether you will hear a difference or not, it is best to go listen to a high resolution setup yourself. NOTE: It must be a high resolution setup because with lower end resolution setup, there is not likely to be any difference. And if you have done that with an open mind, the majority will hear some differences in sound.
