Anyone uses Philips Crystal Vision bulb?



1) How is the lifespan?
2) Does it glare incoming traffic?
3) Is the light really white?
4) Is the white light distracting during rain?
5) How is the brightness intensity/spread pattern compared to Osram Nightbreaker Unlimited/Laser? I know NBU/NBL is yellowish, but they have excellent brightness and reasonable lifespan (about 1 year).

Yellowish color is less glaring and better contrast and sharpness when vision is limited due to rain or fog. That is why amber glasses is used for hunting

err that it more than 5 yrs.. my philips crystal vision last only 1.5 years.. may i know what car and what size?

My H11 last almost 2 years..car seldom use.

using it.. not really white.. yellowish.. if you are looking for more white-ish, diamond vision...

white vision or crystal vision are yellowish to me. im not satisfied for the colour temperature.. but in term of usefulness, i think normal halogen yellowish one is better for visibility..

crystal vision is 4300k hence will be yellowish white.. but not sure diamond vision is legal here..

cuz read in jpj portal, only 4300k and below are legal for road use.. unless factory fitted..

mine crystal vision last only 11 months.

I am thinking to change my halogen bulb to crystal vision too. Anyone has the photo between halogen and crystal vision shine on the floor?

Comparison on crystal vision (4300k) and Vision Plus (3600k). Please ignore the brightness as the age of the 2 bulbs are not the same. Age of Crystal vision is newer than VP.
Philips Vision Plus is the +50 series is whither than typical OEM halogon bulb which rated around 3300k~3400k

The color is one thing.. but the brightness is more important.. like how many lumens for that particular bulb?

Most halogen normal bulb around 800lumens, HID around 2000lumens iinm, while certain LED can reach 3600lumens.. but problem with LED the beam cant go further like HID using projector..
This lumens unit or brightness really helpful during rain, while color of beam helps during thick fog which need 2600K-3000K color to penetrate the white colored fog

Agreed, brightness is the utmost important, that why I re-emphsize that bulb age also influence the brightness. Crystal vision in the photo is much brighter than VP but if both are new, VP will be brighter.

that is good comparison! I've no reason not to change my halogen bulb to crystal vision then

Is this brightness good enough? I find my H4 headlamp seems invisible or dimmed in car crowd. Myvi Saga seems very bright.
Changed to this performance bulb also like very minor improvement only.

This one is high beam, seems pretty much helpless. Is it coz of H4 single bulb limitation?

I had considered Philips Crystal Vision, Xtreme Vision, and Osram Nightbreaker, but in the end I didn't buy them because of high price and short life. Plus, halogen headlight bulbs are very sensitive if you accidentally touch the bulb, say bye bye. Burnt my old osram this way.

Then I found LED bulbs on aliexpress, so far using it for 2 months very satisfied.

LED bulbs has longer life-span is it? I considered the above as well but hasn't change since it doesn't last long..

Theoretically LED bulbs have much longer life span, and also more resistant to damage than halogen bulbs.

Avoid the COB LED bulbs because low focus and more glare.

What's COB? Sorry, not too well verse with cars accessories.. hehe

If you retrofit them into a reflector-type headlight, you run the risk of blinding oncoming drivers because the light pattern is scattered.


My advise for buying LED bulbs
- the LED chips must imitate halogen bulb filament like below so that you get light pattern that's close to stock halogen bulb



- rotatable base to allow adjustment within housing
- all-in-one kit preferred, no dangling LED driver
- you may need to purchase aftermarket dust cover if the bulb is too long. this is to allow good air flow around the fan.

- fanless design may be less bright than fanned design because fanless design poor cooling causing LED to shine less to prevent overheat (I can't confirm this)
