I'm also in the hunt for a MPV. Kia Carnival and Serena are in my shortlist. The Kia medium spec Carnival KX is 160k. Now i think they offer 5 years warranty with 5 years free service. Not really impressed with the new serena during my visit to Nissan PJ yesterday..

That's what I personally think as well. Even with the C26, they add those "can do without" accessories at inflated prices and jack up the price of the car.

For me, those extra accessories are good to have but not a necessity coz even the mid-spec version is quite well equipped already. The only 2 accessories that appeal to me are the 2 tone and leather seat. If the price difference between the high spec and mid spec is about RM5k, still acceptable la but RM15k or even above RM10k is too much.

Bundled leather seats are usually combination leather. You can get better quality leather outside. But for our weather, it is better to go for fabric unless you go for high end leather like Nappa.

As for the player, it should be the same in both specs if not mistaken.

but once again it depends on what type of leather

of coz napa is the best but the price should go along with quality

go out side shop and apply wrap for the roof top, mayb cheaper

Thanks. I am deciding if I need to go for premium version. 15k sounds expensive. The extra accessories seem not suitable for my applications.

The head unit can't play DVD, what for we have roof LCD monitor? Outside Panasonic 2 DIN head unit which doesn't have DVD slot cost only RM2XX...it can play RMVB format.

The DVR doesn't have SD slot, it need to be linked to your phone via wifi every time you want to record. Imagine you need to carry out this procedure every time before you start journey....

I used to installed V Kool and Raytech security film in my cars, Raytech isolates heat much better than V Kool..

My best estimate....dont shoot me:

16" inch rim + tyre = roughly about RM2k plus tyres if taiwan rim
LCD Rooftop screen = About RM1k depending on brand
Leather seats (7 seats) = About 2K for mid range leather
Dual Tone color = agak agak RM1k to spray just the roof
DVR recorder = About RM500 (average) depending on brand can be below RM200 to few hundred
Door Visor = About RM200- RM300
V-Kool 4 mil = not sure
LED interior lamps = I think less than RM100 to modify at Brothers
tray mat = Not sure

So all in all, roughly about RM7000 without tint and mat. But bear in mind, I am taking the highest figure for calculation. It can be much lower in actual.

I think below rm140k price is for lower spec non hybrid...the medium spec should be the price in between that...so i dont think the price different for the high and medium spec is 15k

Body Coating = RM2500

SUM: RM15450 + 2 Tone Exterior

I foresee high spec price wont be exact RM155,000, so high spec still a better deal to me + 5yrs warranty

just be careful that there is airbag inside driver n passenger seat, make sure the 3rd party take note on this..

In my opinion...if TCM maintains the flexible seating function..I would definitely buy the premium one..cos it's worth for RM 150k...but now have to consider again...
