I am a casual gamer. Normally play some RPG and racing games only.
Previously had PS1 but then move towards handheld gaming for portability.

Was thinking to play using laptop, but gaming laptop is freaking expensive!
With a budget under 2k, is PS4 worth buying for casual gaming?

Going to setup a portable monitor with USB to HDMI converter (AOC 15.6" E1659FWU) to connect to the PS4. Will it work? icon_question.gif

Yes for me. I'm a casual gamer too and prefer to play on a console rather on a PC. Plus, there's s lot of great titles coming up. I know you don't wanna miss some of them.

Would love to play some Uncharter or Witcher or Skyrim, they look awesome!
Anyway, are PS4 games separated by regions? Can any PS4 play any regions' games?

Need some help to get started. biggrin.gif

The pro can run some games in 4k and more detailed rendering. It surely increases your gameplay experience in my opinion. smile.gif

its actually much cheaper than pc games if you can wait to play the exclusive games 2 months or more later by buying second hand and selling it off after youre done playing.

Pc games are tied to steam/battlenet/ea games etc and can't be sold but PS can.

Yes coz I also have a PS4 before this but during the 11.11 event few days ago I bought the PS4 Pro due to the discount. When I bought the PS4 couple of years ago it was RM 1.6k. Few days ago bought PS4 Pro for 1.2k only. I'm liking the upgrade.

Btw I have the urge to buy the PS4 Pro coz our living room now have a 55 inches Samsung 4k HDR TV. If we didn't upgrade the TV, I wouldn't have upgraded to PS4 Pro.

I still remember the reason we bought a PS3 also coz we bought our first LCD TV which was quite high end that time at full HD for RM 5k for 40 inches. It was a Sony.

Can't wait for those games!

It is a good buy overall but if you have a good 4k + HDR TV it will really be worth it.

For me, I think better to get a PC because can use other purpose beside gaming.

Now day, platform exclusive game also not many. Even final fantasy xv will available for PC in 2018. Not like last time, we need to purchase a console to play some platform exclusive game.

depend on what you want to play on la

If you want to play 1080p then its not that expensive but if you die die want play in 2k and 4k quality and expect it to be cheap.

then you better just dream long long and play on ur console

PS4 is a cheap solution to enjoy gaming although i do not own PS 4 as long you dont buy game at release date where it is charge its full price. it should be fine. even u do u still can sell it upon finishing the game i see not too bad i own so many steam game in pc but i can't sell them and i never plan to play them anymore so having a option to sell back is good. Overall will be cheaper than PC and require no upgrade for another 4-5 years. although i think PS4 has almost come to the end of usualy 4-5years console life cycle.

Might get myself a PS5 if it can provide a solid 60FPS 1080p. i am happy enough.

You all always forget about the 100% discount on PC.

If you can dont buy game at release date for PS4 then you can wait for 100% discount for pc.

do name those AAA games that are 100 % discount for pcs.

for ps one can buy and sell at the same price or at a loss of rm 10-rm 20 which is so minimal instead of waiting for a couple of years for it to be free. Heck even MGS became free to download in less than 2 years.

4k quality games on pc will require a rig that costs at least rm 3k, where as a ps 4 pro which costs less than rm 1.8 will do the job real fine. so what's your argument here..

trying to dissuade TS from getting a console and join the so called master race?

wut...4k at RM3k laugh.gif
to be correct, a 1080ti can't even guarantee a smooth 60fps 4k gameplay. you'll need at least SLI 1080Ti / (2080Ti), not mentioning the CPU as well.

and Jigoku opinion is correct, he stated if wanted to play at 1080p, its not that expensive and also depends on the type of games TS wanted to play.

most of PC gamer here did advise TS to get PS4 - easy and won't burn his wallet so much.

I just give my opinion saja that you all always seems to forget about 100% discount.

and i dont know which planet you live in that we can get 4k gaming on pc with RM3k.

Just want to add in that dont compare PC 4k and PS4 4k since we all know ps4 pro 4k run at lower resolutions then upscaled for a 4k display that usually run lower or about 30fps.
and yes 30fps doesn’t appear choppy but won’t look super-smooth either.

better stop here before people say i pester ts join mustard race again.

big cat sai say remove time to remove then sweat.gif

Me from pc game migrate to ps4. The main reason is the game i play a lots involve online multiplayer and with ps4, the number of players are ten fold than total of pc player.

What i like more on console is, i can relax on my sofa rather than sit at the chair at the front of my pc. The most important thing for me is i want to sit and relax while playing a game. Previously i hook up my pc to my tv but not really convenient compare to ps4.
