Is it possible for me to "Reseat" my SPM after 5 years since my highschool graduated in the year of 2002 ? Particulary in one subject and only. Thanks in advance

another question , some said that once you took the SPM re-seat exam , you will be shift to another school instead your own school ? It's compulsory or not nessasary ?

i repeated my form 5 after 2 years cos not satisfied with my results... LOL
but u'll have to sit for the current syllabus only... u can choose whatever subject u like...

if u wanna RESIT>. just go to the jabatan pendidikan... get a form.. tell them u wanna take SPM exams under "persendirian" category....

about being shifted to another school... well, if u're private candidate... they will assign you to the nearest school .... and depends if they have extra seat for u or not...

SPM is an open paper which means it's open for anyone to take it.

yup... there's a guy who was elder than me 3 years also when sitting for the resit papers.. haha..

no such word as resit in dictionary.. even thought TAR college does use the word 'resit' :s

they dun always have the form with them....

normally have extra seats prepared for those who cant go the their specific school for some reason or private candidates, i know my school prepare extra for it

anyway, school counsellor cant really do anything bout it since u are not a student for that school anymore, the best is ask the counsellor for guidance and maybe some letter ( i think it requires some approval letter or sort to apply for reseating spm) and yeah, only the jabatan pendidikan has the power

OT, i think it is RESIT, not reseat.

and yeah, you'll have to wait for next year's. they have it like twice a year, isn't it, but the one in july (?) is only for people who failed BM or something. that's what i was made to understand.

funny u should point that out. i've never realized there's no "resit" in the dictionary. but the word is widely used in UK universities in reference to resitting for exams. google it and u'll be amazed

The 'resit' word is widely used and applied in UK or what we call the British English. It's somewhat different from the American English which'd have preferred the word 'retake' instead of 'resit'. Can you believe it that even Webster Dictionary doesn't have the word 'resit'.

Here's the Cambridge version of 'Resit'

If I'm not mistaken, SPM from 2007 onwards are free of charge. So why wait?

Not really, private candidate means you register for the exam on your own not through an educational institution.

For example you study in SMK ABC and now you are in form 5. Lets say the school is adamant that they don't want to allow you to take extra subjects. So what you can do is still study in that school, they can't kick you out even if you don't take the SPM. Then you register at the Kementerian Pelajaran as a private candidate.

i'm Spm 2002 (5 years after) , My situation right now I felt like I wanted to retake one Subject so badly , and If I apply the spm(ulangan) that's mean it made me as "Private Candidate" ? am I right to categoriz myself as Private candidate based on my case ?

u resit 1 subjects.. u only get 1 subject in the list.. they won't add the old one...

then he came back msia... had a GF from GIS(garden international) she wanted him to study get a least a SPM cert or higher wor... LOL

I quited my school when I was in Senior 2(Form 4), Chinese Independent High Schools, because of some personal issues with the students, Haha.
Went to college for foundation instead, until now also no SPM. =/
Now working already, but wanting to go to another country to study more, but can't meet their requirements.
So I'm kinda screwed for the rest of my life. =/

hey.. sorry eh.. i missed this post of yours..
well... if u plan to do a degree.... and if you're above 21 year old.. and have 2-3 working experience... u're eligible for a course that is similar to the field u're currently working with. that's what i know..

whether or not they require u to have at least SPM... i not very sure...

erm if u want to resit u have to pay .. about rm 30+.. u have to add in envolopes from them to send back the results to u and so on.. it will end up being rm 45+..it is not free*i am taking the july paper 2007*
erm..i am resitting BM !!!it is on june 23rd not mistaken.. i am still waitting for the comfirmation letter. i think it is better for u to go for the november paper. since there will be more people involved! teachers will be giving out tips!! students will be sharing their trial papers! and so on.. but july paper should be fine!it is actually the same!still bm! paper 1 paper 2
make sure to get the form at the jabatan pendidikan place ler.. u can choose where u want to take the test!1 they will have a list of place where u can sit for the test!so just choose! i think the closing date is late march(for this year) so be quick!!dont wait!u can get the form around feb i guess?
