Will have upcoming trips and would like to get a good small camera that can take good selfie and group selfie

I had researched online and found Hero 5, Yi Cam 4k+, Olympus TG Tracker etc

My budget is below RM1500 and would prefer the best still image quality and good battery life. Would not be taking any videos, only still images of selfie and group selfie

Any recommendation and how's the battery life for still images only?

Consider SJcam? the original one also quite good quality for the price. Or ThiEye, you can check the review on youtube. At the office, if not have link here for you~ My self use SjCam M20, with image stabilizer. So far quality is good.

How to do selfie if no flip screen?

yi battery life better than gopro; drawback is low light performance not good

Simple decision, go with Yi action cam. Cheap and good quality.

If it is for selfie during outdoor activity like trekking/hiking or water related activity, for sure action camera such as gopro, sjcam, etc will be suitable. Other than that, better get selfie phone. For under RM1500, you can get Oppo F3 Plus or Vivo V5 Plus, to name a few.
