Getting Started

|
We are leasing a piece of land to TNB at Yong Peng area. However TNB requested for the certified copy of the Geran, and the original copy is currently with the bank. Can we head to Pejabat Tanah Johor and ask them to issue a new Certified Copy of Geran without the original copy? Can we request on behalf of client? What are the documents needed to obtain a true copy of Geran on behalf of our client?

All land authorities will not certify as true the documents you bring to them, even if you present to them the original title. What you can do however is to conduct a Carian Rasmi (which costs RM50.00 in Selangor, not sure how much they charge over in Johor). This is almost as good as the original title in terms of reflecting the current status of the property and with a district land office's signature and official stamp. Anyone can conduct a Carian Rasmi, no restriction.
