After the recent NAV 2007 update, the software virus protection will crash after a few minutes of system start-up. or will immediately crash whenever I start-up Firefox or any other software. I did a system restore and from then on, I have been getting the PIF::AlertEng.dll error each time NAV2007 my PC is startup. I also have ZA Pro running together with it. It had never given me any problems until the last update. NAV2007 still works fine and I can't figure out what the error actually means. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Perhaps a reinstall may help. Also before reinstall, its good to clear the temp directory and leftover traces of the software to ensure that all files are fresh from the install file. It is not a the first time an update from AV company causes system to have problems.

You ought to check with the vendor's website. They might have issued a new update to solve your problem or a revised version of the update.
You can also help yourself by asking for Technical Support from the Vendor's Site or Forums.
Hope you luck and Cheers!
