Hi, I would like to connect another router(probably a TP Link router, will flash DDWRT) to my primary router ( DIR 615 flashed with DDWRT) . Is it possible? Are any alternative but not too expensive? This is what i wanted. (Picture). My router is up stairs, my tv and speaker system are down and has Ethernet port (no wifi).

It's possible. Lan is the most stable but if you must do wireless, on the repeater use 5ghz as uplink and 2ghz for clients.

Or may be this TP Link - TL855RE[LINK] would work? I would plug this in the hall down stairs while connected to my main router which is upstairs.

Hi TS, Get a TP-Link WRT1043ND (2nd hand one will do the trick). Then flash it with Gargoyle router firmware. Configure it as bridge to primary router. I been using this wifi bridge setup for many years to link-up 2 desktops in my study room to main router in living room. download firmware from here : https://www.gargoyle-router.comLet me know if you need more helps.

Thines11, yes, possible. I'm using a wireless bridge from my house to my neighbours house. It's something like this: UniFi30#1 ------ RB2011(my router) ------ hAP Lite --- {wifi}--- Asus RT-N2D1(Neighbour) ------ UniFi30#2More info here: https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=83909578Though I'm doing it for a different reason, the principles are the same. QUOTE(Xaser_3 @ Nov 19 2017, 12:14 AM) Cool. How is the performance with that setup? It's OK, maybe half the time, I'll get stable and consistent 30mbps to my neighbour. So Speedtest or torrents at a nice 60mbps. However, because the wifi link is 2.4Ghz, on bad days, it goes down to 10 sometimes even 5mbps with a ton of packet loss most likely due to interference from somewhere. It's hard to say. That was months ago, now we're both on 50mbps but I haven't had time to do speed tests.
