Kindly give advice and recommendation for a reasonable price/durable/quite domestic water pump. ( tongue.gif just realised,, Ay pnhee, Ay Tuah Liap Nee )
biggrin.gif - in Hokkien la.. Translation,, Cheap and Good.. thumbup.gif

I am living in a double storey terrace house.
Water pressure from direct main is adequate,,however lately, At certain times, the water pressure, especially from my kitchen and upstairs aft bathroom
is low...( Suspect some neighbours have installed a water pump from their main ) icon_question.gif

I have read about Grundfos, and a few other brands,, in my opinion,,, trying to find a DIY small water pump is not easy in Malaysia.

Thanks in advance

There is no cheap, good and reliable. It just don't gel together.

Grundfos, the original model (think is CM), currently Grundfos have the cheaper version from its sister company that one not reliable.

I have been using this booster pump brand CNP since 2012 till now. Cheap and Good. I bought it from hardware shop at RM 750 that time in 2012 and Grundfos was selling RM 1600 that time.
So far no problem, no break down at all and no service maintenance required.
Model is CHL 2-30 PC.

Just saw this thread, hope it's not too late.

I recommend to go for the highest end pump, Grundfos since smaller scale pump has small price differences. Might as well go for something that can last for at least 5~8 years.

I’m using joven too. Cost below rm800. Cheap. Served its purpose. But after 2 years 4 months, the controller failed. Replaced the spare part, cost around rm200. But Still cheaper than grundfos.
I’m not sure of the reliability of grundfos. Is it worth paying so much? if it can last for many many years then I suppose it’s fine, but need real testimony from users. Wouldn’t want to fork out so much for a grundfos pump only for it to fail prematurely. And the warranty is only 2 years!

Water storage mainly on water heater. Water pump mainly to increase house water pressure. I never used water storage

What's the difference between a branded pump vs made in China Pump.

Recently my dad replaced his 1Hp Ebara Inverter (I suspect its not as it only turns on and Off despite having VFD), because his VFD controller failed.

and now replaced it with a GrundFos 3/4Hp booster pump.
Model number CM3-5Pm1

I initially fold him that I replaced mine with a China 1Hp (Brand name Toyoo) with standard controller.
And so far my water pump in its 2nd year hasnt failed.

His reasoning is that he prefer branded for total peace of mind.
Price? He paid RM 1680 with installation. Way way way more that. mine.

Whereas mine costs :
Ordered from Lazada around RM 320.
Installation cost RM 200.
total : RM 500 plus.

And if the controller were to fail I can order one from Lazada not like Grundfos or Ebara, they will sell the controller at arm and leg price , so much so its better to replace the entire pump.
