Hi mommies and daddies.

any songs that you guys use to soothe the baby?

or any songs your babies like to hear?

lets share.

my baby is 4 months old now, he likes to hear Canon in D (violins) maybe because he hears it a lot when pregnant.
my baby loves ABC song, he will smile and laugh.

so...I was reading in a book how the baby is used to the rocking motion of the mom walking, while he/she is in her belly, and that motion is average 60bpm. they say how playing songs with that bpm helps soothing the baby, and they make the ezample of "buffalo soldier"...now, it really worked to the point that my 17 mothns old son only wants to hear bob marley before falling asleep!

Actually, there is no 'right' songs so it is all a matter of trial and error. Our first born, we were conservative, so we played Mozart/Beethovan. Second born, we went with ABBA. Last child, Despacito is his sleeping song and still is. This is not a joke ya.

Eldest = Beethovan/Mozart from months to 1.5 years of age
Middle = ABBA from 2 - 4 years old until our radio and the ABBA CD broke
Youngest = Despacito from 6 months till now 13 months.

Hi TS!

I tried loads of songs to keep my babies quiet. Usually everytime they grow up a bit, my songlist need to be updated. sweat.gif
These are some of the channels that worked on my kids:
- Super Simple Song
- BabyFirst
- Lolipapi
- Sesame Studios
- Dave and Ava
- PinkFong (i am so tired of the Baby Shark song cry.gif )

I know right?? and sometimes they go back to what they liked when they were smaller. doh.gif

I can only tolerate Baby Shark in Super Simple Song channel. it's much cuter and can make my baby a bit sleepy. The pinkfong version is too energetic. not good for naptime. hehe...

I dont really like my babies to watch did and friends because it's not so educational. just colorful and happy.

I forgot to add more of my toddler's favourite shows:
- Sarah & Duck
- Peppa pig
- Twirlywoos
- Hi5
- Blippi
- Shaun the sheep
- Timmy Time
- Pingu
- Morph

so many more. if you run out of ideas what to show your babies, can ask me. biggrin.gif

Yup 60bpm seems an accepted pace to replicate the feeling in the belly, plus a gentle rocking up and down. Really helped my and my wife when our son had heavy colic.

I don't play songs but I read to my kids since they were young, even if they may not understand. I think the voice of either mommy or daddy is soothing enough.
