QUOTE(TrialGone @ Nov 13 2017, 05:43 PM) Well just guessing here since the sypmtom looks oddly familiar. Is there anything in front of the lens by any chance? i don't see anything weird inside my lens. check this to see the lens for yourself https://imgur.com/a/CHSTITry to use torchlight and shine into the lens just to check if anything inside the lens also. if you found something weird, tell me... |

Cannot see clearly, but is there a filter attached to the front? Cause there should be something written in front, but can't see. If there is, how about taking that off and take another shot. |

Cause I can see a bit of 4.3mm at your lens corner which seems like blocked by something. Maybe try checking real close if got filter on it. Cause funnily I heard of cases where people didn't even realise there is a filter in front cause they bought it second hand. never put a filter on the lens before (and now)... https://i.imgur.com/lRx31xh.jpg see this to see the front of the lens Well, if that's just the barrel zoom extension, guess it's your camera defect. This is what I google on your camera model: ![]() This is yours: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by TrialGone: Nov 13 2017, 07:21 PM |

Well, guess it is kaput.......... in 'sharpness' sense. Though I'm not sure if it's just cause of settings issue, lens coating issue, different sharpness at different zoom pointed out by others, or whatnot. You can try to repair it, but really what's the point here: https://i.imgur.com/TvqiVlZ.jpg |

QUOTE(gabe_flxtcher @ Nov 13 2017, 01:35 PM) if the quality drops when i zoom the pictures, i would've not buy the camera... the quality degraded after almost a year since i bought it. From what I look, the focusing is slightly off, could be something to do with your lens elements. If you want something decent from superzoom camera, you would need to fork out quite a bit to get the RX10 series. |

In the AFTER shots, those super duper zoomed in look acceptable for super zoom quality. It's difficult to gauge without any EXIF info, for example it could be just area of focus or a matter of slight blur due to shutter speed. The latest link is better. What you should do, since this is a super zoom lens - test is at ONE location. Put if on a tripod if you may, if not then put it on a fence or a car. Then you shoot using AF mode - from widest to the most zoomed in at the same location. |
