Guys, i am going to stay 1 night Genting Highland next Saturday 18/11/2017 and wish to stay after concert, it will be late by then and i wish to stay as near as possible to genting.

Somehow i found on their website all their hotels room is fully booked except for First World Hotel's crappy room at RM750++
I dont mind spending abit for better room, but the RM750 for first world hotel is just unacceptable.

My budget is arround RM500+, guys any suggestion?
I search and found one named "Grand Ion Delemen Hotel", any idea how close it was to Genting and how convenient? Cant really have a clear picture on google maps though.

Ion Delemen Hotel is near Amber Court Hotel........and they provide u free shuttle bus ride to Genting First World every hour.

But u have to book via agoda early....otherwise the price will hike.

brace yourself sleep on hotel sofa OR straight drive to there sleeping in car for 1 night. Just leave window open a bit with engine shut off before you going to sleep.

Trivago still got room offers. Seri Malaysia in Gohtong Jaya is cheap, and near to good food.

I just saw some ad in Airbnb, got a agent say they can get me room in first world but need to transfer RM100 deposit first. Then they will check me in on that date... wonder if its a scam

I manage to get the hotel i wanted after booking.com showed fully booked.

RM750 per night at First World? Are you serious? Could be no more room and that is the price for junior suite? Lol.

I have gone to Genting and yum cha there until 4am then drive back to KL.

So near why need to stay overnight. Unless you are from out of town.

mayb you can try talk to those bapak ayam littering around Genting. tell them you dun wan special service but just want room for the night. nego price.

they say it works at times as those bapak ayam have reserved rooms on hand.

Anyone have tried to get grab from Genting Resort to the nearby hotel/ condo at midnight hours? Easy to get driver?

First World crappy room normally I got it for free.
RM50 I think is still reasonable, but RM750 is unimaginable.

share my experience to book grabcar back from Genting at around 11- 12 am yesterday (SAT)

the grabcar fare can vary dramatically. First time book, rm80 to PJ. The app somehow can’t find drivers. Booking auto cxl by itself after XX minutes later.

Rebook again…the app shown rm11x. I was like alamak due to price increase so much. Never mind I can walked around Genting entertainment centre first and book again later. Hopefully fare can go down later.

Half an hours later, I rebook and this time the app shown even higher price, ie rm12X. This time no choice because my phone was nearly out of battery. The app only managed to get driver few minutes later.

It took a while to get grab drivers at the late hours in genting based on my experience but you may get lucky.

how about taxi?

still manage to get grab but take time (Sat late evening)
few times attempts depends on luck
myself uncomfortable with taxi service

main thing is the fare which can fluctuate so much
