saw a Celcom advertisment at a local newspaper bout the new Celcom Broadband packages..it stated that 384kb/s 3G Unlimeted is RM68/month, and 3.8mb/s 3GX/HSDPA Unlimited is RM120/month..

will check with my local Celcom Service Centre and confirm these packages..

Which newspaper and page number, please?

And it's 3.6mbps for HSDPA. It goes in multiples of 1.8 wink.gif

Celcom has equipped some of their base stations with 3.6mbps capability. HSDPA speed, in terms of download bandwidth, maxes out at 7.2mbps currently; this is what is being tested in Singapore (or maybe even offered already). Of course, since it is assymetric, upload speed still suck. That's why we now have HSUPA, but upload speed will still be less than download.

@madhatter2k, thanks for the info. I wonder why the h3ll they advertised in Harian Metro and not in the other newspapers. They sure work in strange ways.

Finally, I can confirm that for the D50 packages which were offered for a very short time some time ago, the speed is now capped at 1mbps. D50 is supposed to be the same package as D120 when they offered it. So, even though they tell you that 3GX is 3.6mbps capable, they cap your speed at 1mbps even though your modem is well capable of supporting 3.6mbps. So, it sucks, big time...and is very misleading advertising.

heh, the world is all about false advertising, right? brows.gif

anyway i'm currently using the Celcom D120 unlimited(the old plan), coz in a place dominated by TMnuts, 3G is the savior..

but ironically they're from the same company.. sweat.gif

If you have the time to scan and upload the ad, it would most certainly be helpful! notworthy.gif

No need to scan and upload, I think the same ad appeared in the Star today, page N11
