Can anybody give me some advise ?

I having some problem sometimes when I on my PC. I suddenly facing the OS ask me shut down problem screen. then my whole OS can't move d. What happened to my macbook actually ?
Can anybody tell me ?

That's probably a kernel panic. There can be many causes.
I think you may want to view the log files and tell us what
the error message is just before the shutdown.

where to view the log files ?


Added on April 21, 2007, 2:20 amHey, when this problem occured. It ask me to press the power button to switch off and restart computer. Actually, how can I solve this problem ?

Ok I'm not an expert but usually I go to

Utilities Folder > Open "Console" > Click on "Logs" > System.log

When the crash happens again, go straight
in there and cut and paste any suspicious
entries for us.

Sometimes it will say a USB device is the
cause or bad RAM, bad graphics card ...

Sounds like RSS (Random Shut down Syndrome) to me. A problem faced by some early batch of macbook.

Advice? Read this:

and that should be able to solve it if it is RSS

maybe your Mercury 1.9RC3 ? try to disable it in login?

I didn't load it on startup. But I still have the same problem some times.

Have you try to re-install your OS?
It's best to know if it's hardware or software problem.
If after you re-install your OS the problem still occur, can say it was hardware.
If after re-install no prob anymore, can say it was software.
Choose achieve and install if you don't want to transfer your backup.
Just a suggestion.

i think is the RAM problem. Will it be RAM problem ? because I have just change the RAM to 2GB. Using Kingston KVR RAM DDR2 667Mhz. Hyinx Chipset

dude..i think its your RAM.RSS random shut down syndrom.currently,i dont think there isnt any solution..

try changing back to ur apple RAM.try getting corsair value select RAMs.i ve 2x1gb sticks installed for d past 5 weeks without any problems..

my kingston KVR RAM not always cost problem to me. but sometimes. once in a blue moon.
