I'm sure that many of us have been gaming on consoles or PCs for a long time. And doing things for so long you tend to realize certain things. Especially how expensive it can be!

Let everyone know how EXTREME you are. What would you give to get your gaming fix? All consoles welcome, both old and current generation(Xbox 360, PS3, Wii)

I'll start off with mine.

-NES X 6 - Wasn't too careful with my stuff then, bricked many units
(Too young to know bout money, probably RM 1000)

-Gameboy classic - wasted too much money on games for this thing, then again was young. No longer in working condition.
(RM 600)

-Sega MegaDrive 16 bit - loved this unit, esp games like Sonic the hedgehog series,
Shinobi, Street Fighter. Burn't a gigantic hole in my pop's pocket.
(RM 2500)

-SNES X 1 - I was older when I started using this so less casulaties.Played a couple of games on the console but cannot remember their names.
(RM 1000)

Total cost : RM 5100

Then became a teenager and switched to PC gaming, probably RM 2000 on games. The computers were used heavily as work computers too, so don't really consider them "consoles"

Currently looking for a new console. Probably Xbox 360. But would rather go for the PS3 if there's an official local launch.

Looking back it feels kinda stupid spending RM 5100 + RM 2000=RM7100 on games. Luckily, I have a brother, so my father didn't feel so bad spending money on his two kids. If I was a single child though my father would probably be this and I'd probably be this

Anyway, that's my story. What's yours? Did your sponsor(parents) or finance minister(u know who) take it well?

That thread doesn't list the costs of consoles. That's why I started this thread.

I nt sure how much i spend total, but i rmb that my old console was a gift from my grandpa...kind of nostalgic 2rmb it, maybe total up all my console got 3k+

Hey, the title was just a little joke. Don't take it too seriously.

Besides, I'm not proud of spending as much as I have. Just realized how much I've spent after reflecting upon it one nite, and regretted a little. Wonder if any others feel the same way. Gaming being the money drain it is, is it worth it?

As for me, I'll continue gaming in the future, but be mindful to manage my expenses better.

I don't consider myself extreme. Look at the ppl who have Xbox 360, PS3 and tonnes of original games. Some even have PS2. Probably RM6000+. And this is only for current gen consoles

I share all my consoles with my siblings, it's mulit-person entertainment I guess.

NES + SNES - Free loh, I'm too young to even go out alone at that time.
PS1 - Free, my father's friend gave it to me as a birthday present back then.
PSOne - Free, my dad bought it for me when my PS1 broke down.
PS2 - RM1300, my dad paid RM900 since he had all those extra Euros when he came back from Frankfurt.
Xbox 360 - RM1800 (LE DOA4), I paid RM550 and the rest comes from my old man, too hehe.

X360 games - RM700+
Games for other consoles are pairats

Micro Genius, Mega Drive 2 = Gift from parents

PS1 = Gift from bro

PS2 SCPH10000 = 1200 AUD, bought it at end of 2000. imported from HK, bought it for Tekken Tag Tournament (Crazy shit). Too bad its unused collecting dust now.

Xbox = 650 AUD + games roughly another 500AUD + more for WD120GB and Xecuter2 mod. I still love my xbox. Greatest media player is there (XBMC) and its cool that it upscales to 1080i for any video.

Dreamcast = 99AUD IIRC

Gamecube = 50/50 with my GF I think it was around 150 - 200 AUD, + another 400-500AUD for games

GBA SP All Blacks Edition = No idea, totally forgot + 2 flash carts and 1 Proporta all metal case

PS2 SCPH39002R = RM450-500, plus another RM130 for Network Adaptor (reason I bought this)

Xbox 360 = 2nd hand, RM1100 + RM800+ for games

NDSL Lite + R4 = RM750

Craziest thing I did was to buy the PS2 when it first got released.

ur collection is actully quite normal, i dun see u have those ataris, or even 3DO, and heck, u dun even own a current gen console

but anyway, congrats on ur massive collection

WII will drop to RM1100, now its still RM1400. Xbox360 will have a new version Elite with HDMI coming out soon. No need so rush to get them yet. We must invest our money wisely, luckily i didn't buy 3D0 which had only 1 year of life.

Those below are the consoles i own before.

Sony Playstation-RM300(second hand,come with only one consoles and one Dual Shock Controller,costs for games,memory cards,and other accessories are outcluded)

Sega Dreamcast-RM800(bought a lot of Ori Games for DC(even now,for collecting),coz DC's pirates are not quite stable.If all count in,i think i have spent around RM2000 on this console.Sega i love u.

Sony Playstation 2-RM1300 when i bought,Ori games for PS2 are so expensive,damn it.If u buy from a shop in Malaysia,the cost that u spent can get u 2 or 3 DC ori games.So far,have spent around RM2k or RM3k on my PS2.

Nintendo GameCube-RM500 for console,bought just for BioHazard series.Totally spent around RM1000 for this console.

Microsoft Xbox 360-bought with RM1500,game outcluded,so far spent around RM2.5K on it.Havent mod it yet.
