Yes, it's definitely better if it's Myvi -> Myvi no question, plus folks tend to quote fuel efficiency when buying P2 cars.
But if you look at Iriz -> Myvi, those features aren't as appealing, esp combined with the HPF steel used in Iriz's structure.
Another thing, ESP/ESC does not help with side/frontal collisions, where none of it is the driver's fault.

I guess the point of my original comment was to highlight the stiff competition that is coming from P2. Good news for consumer.
Proton dropped the ball, way I see it, its inability to align with consumer demand and preferences. They have an advantage with the HPF steel but didn't fully capitalize on it and they totally skipped on fuel efficient cars.
If P2 incoporate HPF steel into their lineup, good bye Proton. That's why I was curious on the new Myvi's technical spec for steel used.

Yep. This .... I absolutely hated this and still hate it. 
Proton in all it's zealousness copied continental design. Continental cars are right-hand drive, it made complete sense.
Malaysia is left-hand drive. The original Japanese positioning scheme worked perfectly and it was very intuitive.

Someone ought to give Proton interior designers a knock on their head for not seeing this issue.

Actually i am realy excited with myvi. But tkday i started to worry hows the handling like? Hows the steering will be like? Even if the spec - price is that good, i cannot tahan kf the handlkng is like the current myvi

some of these "new" features have been standard for quite sometime already for more upmarket brands..

previously, a serious bang means some cheap restoration job and a fresh coat of paint.

but with all the sensors installed around, a bang in the wrong place means replacing those sensors...
