Actually to answer why one phone show LTE and one show 4G is actually comes from carrier version file. For iPhone, you can check under General -> About -> Carrier. Now for Maxis is Maxis 31.0.
Last time during jailbreaking time, we would change the logo and text in the carrier version file on what to display. End of the day, 4G and LTE is the same.
I remember during initial LTE release, the phone shows LTE then with carrier version upgrade, it changed to 4G
