Yes it works but no matter what you have to have your face facing the phone first. Im still used to my previous 7+ fingerprint recognition which I still think is a notch faster than face id because I usually unlock when pulling the phone out of the pocket or even with the phone lying on my office desk. With the X I have to pick up the phone everytime to unlock. I also develope a bad habit of having to keep looking at the lock/unlock sign to activate before I start using the phone. Maybe I still havent got the hang of it but I still do think finger print is faster.

Yes...unlock with fingers while the phone is lying on desk is super convenient...and I do it everyday. I think I am going to deeply miss that feature when I got my X. Hopefully some software upgrade can make the phone recognize you while lying down...u know...like what the Apple advertisement shows when a sexy lady unlock it with the phone on the pool side? biggrin.gif

I’m hoping Apple could at least use Apple Watch as a companion device when near the phone to allow the phone to unlock.

eww.. that is quite fast for a phone to be dying. btw, in your view.. is the size slightly smaller then your previous plus phone? will you be annoyed by the top cut off panel?
*
just to reply u....
yes it is slightly smaller than my 6+ but I already get used to it after few hours of use.
regarding the notch, after you use for a few hours, u will start to forget about that notch hahaha

I’m using the RM50 type from lazada. Works like a charm.

But when you were wearing the watch then won't your phone be always unlocked?

How long does yours charge... lets say from % to full? IMO wireless charging is really slow. Not that charging by cable is fast but wireless is even slower. sweat.gif

I think I’m part of a very small minority who likes the notch and think it’s unique biggrin.gif

Idea is Watch has to be in range connected to the phone, Watch also has to be on the wrist and unlocked in order for phone to remain unlocked. Hopefully Apple has at least thought of something similar like this.
