Yes , i need the battery % as well. One more simple click to me is actually annoying when using a phone.

Been playing my iX since last night. It's really a big impact since i upgraded from i6, getting used to the FaceID, personal think it really a good feature, can't understand why ppl keep insisting prefer TouchID, all you need is just time to adapt to the new features. In addition, it's much smoother for buttonless, all the gesture/instruction given just on the touch screen

One drawback to me is you really need charge your wireless earbud/headphone frequently. I bought mine a good quality earbud 1 year ago but because of malas (need to charge frequently, since I am a heavy earbud user) I used to put on my wired earbud.

Anyway, do anyone encountered mystery photo in stored in WhatsApp?
Although i backed up my phone & restored to iX, those old pic can't display, instead it shown a big "?". Would appreciate someone can provide constructive solution.

My only concern with FaceID is I can't check my phone quickly and discretely now. I also have reliability issues at certain angles and weird lighting condition.

Maybe you should try to make the backup again from the older phone and then try to restore it again. The best and fastest way is always backup thru itunes and restore locally. Icloud is slower and probably will have problem like this with certain apps.
Try check the icloud backup for whatsapp and make sure everything is turned on. Many people have this issue if you read at apple forum. No definite solution in forum as well.

most people prefer to have both faceid is fast, at least for me, just that we need to raise the phone and look at it

But seriously I prefer Face ID and no longer have to worry fingers wet can not unlock. Wear specs and cap also no issue.

Another issue besides cant check our phones quickly and discreetly is, notifications coming in like Whatsapp etc does not show content until you unlock it using face id. Sometimes we need to take a peek to see whose message came in before deciding if we were to check the messages. In a way, it prevents unnecessary peeking at the incoming messages, but in another way its more troublesome. Call me old school, but I still prefer fingerprint unlocking because face is cumbersome and slow to me.

Anyone try b4 if u make in-app purchase multiple times in a row, first few times will ask for Face ID. After 3rd purchase, keep asking for Apple ID password. Very irritating.

I think the message preview (when phone is locked) can be enabled if you wish. I like the privacy though

Yes it does. Darkness is no issue, based on my experience.

There is always passcode entry as backup unlock method anyway when face or touch ID fails.

The Rhinoshield mod bumper case alone feels really nice and rock hard/solid, doesn't feel like TPU at all.
The power button tactile feels great when the rim is not installed, but when the rim is on the power button loses the tactile feel and is more stiff...
No issues with the volume buttons though.

But with back plate is really a bummer when you want to remove... sigh

The first encounter with face unlock is the note 3 i use previously. Used it for half a day and back to the fingerprint. Hated most the part i need to look at the screen to unlock which is really troublesome. Its just create some cumbersome during the process. I wont go into other detail as i know the face unlock on note 3 is something gimmicky and it doesnt even work in dark places lol.
Not sure how faceid will evolve but i will wait until next year.

you can turn off this feature, default is on, just go to Notification and find it out and off lazy to navigate my ipx now haha

Bro as per my understanding when u look at the phone and it recognized u, it will auto show the content without u unlocking it. Pls try google it

Out of curiosity, do you guys turn off true tones on your phone? I do because I dislike the warm screen

I’m using true tone for all my devices. Kinda got used to it.

The slow part is where you have to swipe up to unlock. But being so, if we do away with the swipe up, the the phone will fully unlock everytime we look at it. This wont work either especially when you just want to look at the time or notifications on the home screen.

Yes, you need not swipe up. But u need to let the phone ID you first before it shows you the content of the message.
