I sent my phone for repair in early august due to my phone microphone was not working. The staff in the shop charged RM 130 for changing the dock connector flex cable (so called ribbon) of my phone and told me it required 1 hour waiting time with warranty 1 month. As it takes 1 hour, i decided not to wait in front of the shop and walked around in the mall. After 55 minutes, the staff called my boyfriend and said the root cause of issue was due to the phone IC issue and need to pay extra RM20 to get it fixed. We agreed to pay and been right in front of that shop 5 minutes after the call. The staff has completely fixed the phone and was chatting with his friends. We requested the staff to show us the faulty IC, and they were unable to show us and simply claimed that it was dropped out from phone during repair. We tried on the phone and the mic seems ok. I blamed myself of not standing in front of him witnessing the whole process.
A week after this, I just found out that my front camera was very blur due to the professionalism of the staff not cleaning the lens properly when he assembled my phone. So, we went to the shop to ask for lens cleaning. The staff said it needs 1 hour to get this fix. Once bitten twice shy, we decided to wait right in front of him and yes, it only takes 15 minutes to fix it (not as per what he mentioned).
On and off, the mic was not functioning during call. Finally, i decided to go for checking 2 weeks after last visit. During his testing session, it went well and refused to help me to check further or do anything. After my further explanation on the whole situation, he started to say it might due to ribbon issue. Hence, he replaced it and it took 2 hours to replace it because all of his stock was defect where the left and right button were not functioning at all. He promised to order the stock and said it roughly took a few days to get new stock.
After 1 week, i called to check for status on Monday. He said the stock will be sent in the evening and asked me to come on Wednesday because he needs to verify the stock first and Tuesday is a off-day. On Wednesday, the staff seemed shock when I came to the shop and started calling to ask the status of stock. He totally forgot to check on this and the other staff (the second guy) simply gave me a reason that the stock was stuck in the custom and therefore there is no stock available today without any sense of apology. He said, we had your number and we will contact you if the stock arrived.. It just sounds so ironic from his mouth, he could had called me earlier to inform on all this if he had the sense of responsibility.
Nothing were happened after 2 weeks. My boy friend called and asked on the status of the stock. The second guy started the story telling by saying that they had message me on the stock status. But, i did not receive any sms or watsapp message at all. They were unable to tell the date of sending that msg too. The way he explained was rude and unprofessional. He said the stock was ordered through another supplier and they have no idea and no way to check the receiving date of stock. When my bf raised his concern that it could be weeks, months, or year, he accused my bf of being rude and mentioned that there is no rough estimation and no promise of stock. However he said, if I left my phone in the shop, they could bring my phone to a place where they can test and fix it within 3 days. How ridiculous is this? If they can bring my phone for testing and fixing it within 3 days, why can't they get the stock from that 'place' within 3 days? This is a total scam and I had paid for nothing. Please reconsider if you want to visit this shop. Hope this helps you to gauge what is best for you.
