Fallout 3 is Oblivion with guns. Even the developer admits it.

The sad thing is Diablo 3 is more faithful to its predecessor compare to Fallout 3.
Plus, one of the original Fallout team member is now working in Blizzard, as the lead world designer of DIABLO 3, who shared his though about isometric angle. Here somes juicy threat about Fallout 3: Fallout 3 is Oblivion 2, with bullet time, I mean V.A.T.S Don't buy the hype |

QUOTE(soggie @ Aug 15 2008, 11:35 PM) Sorry, I must have been confused. Was never a big fan of energy weapons. Melee character has 2 choices of 'uber' weapon - Super sledgehammer and Powerfist. I tried hand-to-hand before. As a kung fu expert. Freaking hard to play man... but you get a lot of nice moves. Use them to hit kids in their groin. |

While FO3 is still on its way, the mod community has been working lately to bring you a High resolution fan-patch of Fallout and High resolution fan-patch of Fallout 2. Now you can play those 2 in higher resolution.

QUOTE(Mr_Hulk @ Sep 17 2008, 11:24 PM) you miss the point that this games is RPG games. The most important thing in RPG is the storyline. Even fallout 3 look like fallout 2, i still gonna play it anyway.LOL. Just because it has stats building doesn't mean it is an RPG game. I hope i can ride two-head cow rather than a car. that will be awesome. RPG game's mechanic relies on your character's stats, calculated based on an event to determine the outcome, instead of player's reflexing skill. RPG game has story telling and allows a player to make a choice and accept its consequence. RPG game allows a player to use any method to solve a problem be it physical (combat or thievery) or mentally (persuasion, intimidate, seduction etc social skills). . |

Original creator of Fallout share their thoughts of Fallout 3
Swedish PC Gamer reviewed the game I bet Bethesda is going to put going DRM nuts now. But then again, the game is a crappy work of all time. |

Since the game has been leaked, Fallout 3 modding forum is now opening
And yes the game needs an overhaul like the Oscuro's Overhaul mod for Oblivion. ;| |

QUOTE(KepalaRadio @ Oct 23 2008, 08:56 PM) Fallout itself acclaimed it's cult status not by commercial sales but by its content. So does System Shock and Deus Ex. But those 2 are action game with RPG element anyway. If Fallout was a commercial success like Baldur's gate, many people will have played it. And more people will b**** how Bethesda ruined Fallout. Good thing Interplay is back online and working on Fallout MMO...*gulp* This post has been edited by zioburosky13: Oct 23 2008, 09:51 PM |

QUOTE(Topace111 @ Oct 23 2008, 11:20 PM) If anyone hoping for a better company to acquire the fallout IP last time, it should be BIOWARE but bioware never continue others work. Their trend is pretty simple nowadays old school r & d (nws & dragonage), then space fantasy (Kotor, mass effect). Bioware always like D & D series and maybe due to some respect left for its fellow compatriot they left the IP acquisition. To be fair, Bioware's only good game is Baldur's Gate series. The rightful studio that should make Fallout 3 is Troika Games, ex-Interplay employee and original makers of Fallout - Tim Cain, Leonard Boyarsky and Jason Anderson. Boyarsky expressed his thought when Bethesda acquired the rights of Fallout 3 " To be perfectly honest, I was extremely disappointed that we did not get the chance to make the next Fallout game. This has nothing to do with Bethesda, it's just that we've always felt that Fallout was ours and it was just a technicality that Interplay happened to own it. It sort of felt as if our child had been sold to the highest bidder, and we had to just sit by and watch. Since I have absolutely no idea what their plans are, I can't comment on whether I think they're going in the right direction with it or not." Btw, Boyarsky is the lead world designer of Diablo 3, Tim Cain is working with NCsoft, Jason Anderson joined Interplay as creative director for an unannounced MMO. Vault Dweller just started his review, kinda.
Strength 5, Melee 15. In Fallout 1 that would mean a painful death. In Fallout 3 that means 94% chance to hit in VATS mode. I run into two armed guards in combat gear. The guards manage to reduce my health from 200 to 141, but die easily. Then I kill more guards. Then I kill the overseer. Then I kill some more guards, leaving a dead vault behind. At lvl 1. Unskilled. Wearing nothing but my vault pajamas. If you think VATS is innovated, you haven't play the game call Max Payne. VATS is basically a f***ing bullet time with hit percentage! QUOTE(soggie @ Oct 30 2008, 05:57 PM) But I do miss groin shots, and the hillarious descriptions: "x was critically hit in the groin for y damage. Her childbearing days are over." I heard you brother. So here's a nice screen shots for you ![]() |

QUOTE It's even worse than I had expected, on all counts - combat a tedious hackfest and all-too easy (killing Enclave soldiers in 2 hits with spiked knuckles), terrible plot and dialogue, uninspired voiceovers, mostly irrelevant stats (other than as requirements for perks) with the ability to make uber-characters no matter which way you go, and lots of boring dungeon crawling. Where's the source? |

QUOTE(karwaidotnet @ Oct 31 2008, 07:02 AM) Arghhhh...SORRY BUT I CANT TAKE THIS ANYMORE. SHUT THE F@RK UP!!!!!!!!! if u dun like the game, dun come here and rant all day longgg!!! most of us here likes this game so much that we even parted RM3xx for the collector edition!!! ![]() No body forced you to fork out 300 dollars for a piece of shit metallic case and piece of HYPED, unfulfilled and empty promise product. In case you wonder why Bethesda is a lousy company now, 1) Overhyped product - Radiant AI in TES Oblivion, dumbed down gameplay (leveling system, dialog, 5 voice actors to voice EVERY NPC), storyline and ending (previos TES titles have mutltiple endings except Morrowind and Oblivion). 2) They turned a tabletop simulated CRPG cult classic game into a mindless first person action game where level 1 character can slaughter a bunch of people without any difficulty . It's like turning GTA into a tetris game for every age, with the aim of maximize their profit.. Many games have suffered the same treatment (Deus Ex 2, X-COM: Enforcer and X-COM: Interceptor, Unreal Tournament 3). |

For those who haven't touch, or lost, or got stolen their Fallout game,
Here's another chance to get the game legally. Though I'm not sure if those titles can be patched with mod. AND THEY ARE CHEAP!!! EDIT: Off topic. It's proven a hardcore RPG game can be profitable too. EDIT: QUOTE(linkinstreet @ Oct 31 2008, 06:02 PM) ![]() GTA IV PC version has been delayed, again. QUOTE(Hitman66 @ Oct 31 2008, 06:11 PM) Frankly, I find the gameplay of Morrowind is a bit boring now... ;|I still replay FO, FO2, Planescape Torment, Temple of Elemental Evil, Arcanum, Vampire the masquere Bloodline. If The Witcher doesn't have a pre-fix character, I might get the game. |

2 hours of gameplay experience as below (SPOILER ALERT) (after borrowing it from a rich ******* who orders everything online):
1. Skills. Gone are first aid and doctor, replace by Medicine. So you can now heal crippled arm/leg with STIMPACK. Speech is pretty much useless since the game's dialog is uninspiring and lack of creativity to read. Perhaps the most shocking skill is repair, which in previous FO game only works on certain place. In FO3 you have to maintain your weapon and armor, like System Shock series. 2. Perks. Judging from the selection of choice, 60% of the perks are gear toward for a combat-type character. 3. Encounter. Imagine the shock of finding missile launcher at level 3... 4. Unkillable NPC! They DO exist in the game. 5. Annoying Intro. Seriously, Bethesda's trademark of lengthy character creation is a pain-in-the-arse but the combat is twitch based. Ironically, in previous Fallout game all you have is a brown paper (simulated) loaded with character details and customization with short intro but complex combat mechanic. 6. Spoon fed everything. In FO3 you are flooded with many information when trying to do something. Say when lockpicking a door, the game will tell you you need x amount of lockpick skill percentage to do it. Rather than letting you try it straight away. Todd and his gang should take a class of Design 101. 7. VAT is a joke. For the action sequence. Once you pick your target, the camera switch to action shot demonstrating the effect. It's fun to watch first time but after that it's getting annoying. When encounter an enemy I just run backward and shoot, just like every FPS game. During my attempt of escaping Vault 101, I killed every NPC in there except for one(Unkillable NPC!) with ease and the game is set in VERY HARD mode. 8. FO3 should be rename to Fallout Tactics 2. There are numerous edible items in the game. From bloatfly meat to Squirrel meat! Fallout 3 is Oblivion with guns This post has been edited by zioburosky13: Nov 1 2008, 02:18 PM |
