The 'Shoot a person's head and it'll blow the legs off too' is because he has the bloody mess perk. If you played the previous Fallout games you would know what it does.

Teddy bear. Its funny. Nuff'zed. The statement you made, made it sound as if comedy has no part at all in a Fallout universe. Ironic, since that is what made the previous Fallout games good as well.

Animation and zombies. Have nothing to add to this. It looked ok to me. Then again, this is not the finalised build. There could be changes.

Storyline continuity? I mean seriously? Did you even play Fallout 1 and 2? Do they even connect? Are you playing the same hero???

I'm all for discussion but please check out your facts before you type them. If you have problems with the E3 demo, fine. But don't let that cloud your judgement on the facts of the game itself.

I think everyone fails to mention one thing that they didn't bring from the previous Fallout games and it is the most crucial part.

Weird all the review sites giving FO3 good reviews. Well, the ones I know anyway. I know how reviews can get biased but most of them?

Anyway, most forums have more negative views than positive ones. Why? Simply because the happy people are busy playing the game! When this game is out here (MY), I'm gonna get it no matter what.

Dammit I wanted to buy this game but tsb stock has finished.

Just bought the game myself and I am having some fun with it. Made sure that I would continue on the game no matter what happened (even when things don't go my way or NPCs die) and so far doing good. My character is going the sniper\melee route and he already has a swanky sheriff hat (LoL it wasn't me!).

Weird I bought the Asian vers of FO3 and downloaded the Europe patch since it says it is for english vers of the game that is not from NA, and I patched my game fine. Wonder what you guys are talking about.

Should be the second patch, the FALLOUT 3 PATCH UK ENGLISH v 1.0.0.15 which is for English version outside of NA.

Yeah I bought from tsb so it is the Asian version. Anyway there is only 2 patches in that page and the second patch did state that it is for other FO3 english version that is released outside of North America (NA), which would mean ... us.

I know it works because after installing the game I crashed right after the part where you are trying to get out of the vault and I had quick saves and saves done. Unfortunately when I opened the game back, all my saves were gone. Since it was such a game breaking bug (the inability to not be able to save), I decided to try the 2nd patch and it worked like a charm. No crashes after that and my saves (after the patching) were ... saved. So ... why are you guys downloading the unofficial patch? (Don't take it the wrong way, it is just a question since I have suffered no problems with my game after patching).

Hmm weird. Am I the only one who had success with the original patch? My FO3 is Asian version bought from TSB btw.

Something to ponder about, Fallout 3 is nominated for 2009 Videogame Writing Award. Surprising? Not really. (IMO)

Anyway just finished the game 2 days ago and now going on it again on my second play through. The final battle was awesome and guess what, the ending wasn't such a disappointment to me. Maybe I was just playing my character to follow more of his/her dad in the game. So ... my general outlook for the game was a good one. The only complaint I have is that they used that generic voice guy too often (but hey, then he wouldn't be the generic voice guy, wouldn't it?) and the pacing near the end was too fast to mimic the urgency (which is good or bad depending on what kind of experience you are looking for).

Another point to ponder about, just read the PC Gamer for this month and the fact that the editors all had Fallout 3 in their top 3 games of the year speaks volumes about how good this game is. Personally, it could be Bethesday paying them to do this but the fact that alot of reviewers are echoing the same thing must mean that the game has something good going for it.

Anyway, just my opinion. I had fun with this game.

Can't really help with the Live issues, but to use your saves offline, just move the .fos files from My documents/My games/Fallout 3/Saves/(GFWL profile name) to My documents/My games/Fallout 3/Saves. If you can live without the achievements, of course.

I think that is part of the main storyline.

As a side note, Beth replied my email to their support on the patch woes and according to them, we should not use any of the patches in their website and an Asian patch is indeed in the pipeline. S/he advices to stick to the unpatched version of Fallout 3 and if you have no problems with your GFWL, it will download the appropriate patch when it comes available. Unfortunately, there is no ETA on this.
