There's one thing i noticed about the review they gave, they did not talk about the RPG elements of the game!

I dunno, it seems like Beth are purposely toning that aspect down. I can't remember what was it they toned down or removed though, but I heard it was big news. Was it Perks, maybe?

10/10?? I guess there must be some credibility in that, but I remain skeptical. smile.gif

Hmm.

I can't remember. Something to do with character creation, where they left out something.

...maybe I'm remembering it wrong. sad.gif

They took out Traits. Merged them with Perks and removed negative aspects. No more Gifted characters for you.

I remember creating a character with the Gifted trait. Awesome stats coupled with severe skill deficit.

Damn, why did they remove it...

You guys know what i particular feel relieved and like about Fallout 3 that i get to know from this review?? Its that they finally do-away with the auto-leveling of the monsters to suit your level (like oblivion) which IMO ruin the RPG elements of an RPG game. In oblivion.. i was feeling like.. what.. after i killed tons of monsters and tons of exp.. i am still weak. whats the point of all this exp and battle? If they wanted to do this sort of thing.. then do away with experience and follow the system like what we have in Lands of Lore.. owww i love that.

Whats fun for me when Fallout 1 & 2 was the freedom to wonder and kill and gather the best equips/lvl via whatever ways we can and then come back to the first city with power armour to sc*ew the thugs.

Then you will love FO3, because it's all about combat in FO3. Gather equipment, gain levels, kill baddies. All done in a post-apoc environment.

Wait... that sounds familiar. STALKER anybody? Bioshock anybody? Gears of War? Heck, take away the post-apoc and level thing and you'll have GTA, Mercenaries, Crysis, Farcry, yada yada.

From the games you've listed, the only one that i find similiar to F3 is STALKER. GTA is totally different from F3, and the others as well.

Bioshock = retro post-apoc, with slight RPG elements
Gears of War = bleak gray and more gray... just like FO3!!!

Mercenaries/GTA/Farcry/Crysis = Sandbox game, which is what Todd loves. Immershun!

Although I agree with you I'm starting to doubt it's failure. The reviews lately were mostly positive however they did not say anything about the RPG aspects of the game. So I'm thinking that It'll be a good FPS in it's on way, not sure about the RPG-ness of it though.
