i tot fallout was supposed to be RPG not FPS.
if i wanted a FPS game i'd play CRYSIS or COD.
Beth messed up big time.

That they did, well I'm going to get the "Lanun" copy of it, hopefully it will be better than what the previews, hopefully.

According to Bethsoft's devs, Fallout 3 is supposed to be something like Deus Ex (FPS with deep RPG elements)....yeah right!

Lemme guess. You have no idea what Fallout is and you are a hardcore FPS fan. You like the nuclear explosions and the gibs, and want nothing more than that and only that. You want to kill stuff, see them explode into polygonal chunks and splatter the whole monitor screen. You go to sleep immediately after reading 3 words of a dialogue and want nothing more to get it over with and continue your slaughter.

Well good news is, you'll LOVE fallout 3. Because that's excatly what Bethsoft did to FO3.

well i have played Star wars knight of the old republic and i like rpg games so it kind of cool to see the same concept of deus ex applied to the fallout series though i favour more on fps i do like fps games . Fall out you dont kill animal meh.... in the first game also got kill what =.= !!!

Lets dwell on history of pure RPG shall we :
The best RPG publisher Interplay (pre 2000) create 2 comp to target 2 RPG market
- Black isle studio on fallout series (deemed best of its own genre)
- BIoware on D & D franchise (especially baldurs gate series) deemed the best game of all time.

After 2000
- Bioware develops KOTOR (a daring innovation) & Neverwinter nights (old school D & D)
- Obsidian takeover any Bioware sequels KOTOR 2 & NW2 s*** big time.
- You have this open world RPG theme (bethesda)
- RPG + FPS (deus ex & system shock 2)

RPG + FPS still remains the holy grail of success in gaming which many companies have tried to penetrate (& failed considerably) but hey according to ex intel president in 1990s only paranoid can survive in this world, you gotta give chance for people to take risks. To those people has claim that early reviews of the game is mediocre at best, well there is no demo, the game has no early release to prof previewers, so why not wait for the mass consensus b4 decide emm. (best aggregator : game ranking & meta critic)

I guess you won't get my point as long as you don't realize what is so attractive about fallout series that caused so much hate towards Beth's attempt to turn fallout into an action RPG. And like I said, you, being a bigger fan of FPS than RPG, would never understand why we feel that way against Beth, no matter how hard you try.

Which isn't wrong. We all got our own preferences anyway.

If F3 allows the player character to join the Enclave, I'd say that will be pretty cool. In Fallout 1, the pc can either save the vault dwellers or join the master so I'm hoping that a similar option is available in F3. Wishful thinking...I know...I know...sigh

I'm just hoping that the combat gameplay is going to be good, that way I can still play the game like an FPS with RPG elements instead of the other way round.

so, the latest review (from xbox magz that is.) gave fallout 3 10/10.. so far so good..
