n is FO3 gonna to be like how Oblivion are, ur enemy u meet par with ur lvl?

edit: Advance power armor look cool, but seem unproportionate though whistling.gif
tactics' armor look more refine n proportion to be fit in. n FO3 armor i definately no-no. maybe some modding community will help. whistling.gif

Level scaling only in certain places. Thankfully. At least Bethsoft got that part right...

Yes, mods to the rescue!!! Although I'm getting kinda sick relying on mods to play Bethsoft's games.

it's better to take GOAT if you're a completionist, there's an achievement if you take it smile.gif

er, i met a mutant brute on level 3, and he put bullet holes on me sad.gif
*
I'll take the GOAT when I replay the game. Reason why I skipped it was because I was so eager to get out of the vault and smell the ashes after installing the game hehe...

As for the mutant brute, well...once you've acquired some decent equipment, you'll eat them for breakfast.

The endings SUCK...damn, what were they thinking? The narrative by Ron Pearlman was so poorly written it made me wonder whether it was hastily pasted to the game moments before it came out. We go through all the trouble to finish this game and we get rewarded with 3 minutes of nonsense (frankly, I think even Ron Pearlman had no clue as to what he was narrating hence the unenthusiastic tone)

Not even a Fallout 3 fanboy can deny that!!

I think I had more fun playing Fallout Tactics than Fallout 3. It had better endings too smile.gif

And give up the cool pipboy clock?

Pipboy clock only available in the survival edition which costs wayyy much more than the CE. I think it's only available in the US.

Things are still easy to kill even after I crank up the diff to hard...

You can kill a BOS paladin with a level 3 character wielding a 10 mm pistol (with boosts from Psycho and Jet)

get shotguns.. better firepower compared to those assault rifles or just enter player.additem 4322,1  Gives u an alien blaster..LOL now u can pwn those bloody bosses haha
*
I dislike shotgun due to its inadequate range. I play with energy weapons instead. If you can kill Brotherhood Outcasts for their laser rifles early in the game, you're all set. Only problem would be the lack of fusion cells.

Energy weapons strike a good balance between damage and range. And they're outrageously expensive too. Time for something new and improved!!!

I meant lack of micro fusion cells early in the game (when you are level 3 - 6).

F3 crashes every 1 hour for me (if I'm lucky). Anyone found a workaround for the constant crashes??

It's getting annoying.

On an unrelated subject, I just realised I have 1000 hunting rifle ammo...lol, haven't been using small guns in awhile. Bloody mutants and raiders use hunting rifles a lot. Arguably the easiest ammunition to find in F3.

The ffdshow is just one of the quirks. It doesn't work for everyone. Still waiting for the release...damn it. Why is it taking so long for the PC version to arrive?
*
It doesn't work for me...damn it. Still experiencing crashes every freaking hour. Damn, this game's stability is f@cked up. At least Oblivion was stable. Guess Bethesda took a step backwards in terms of game stability. MOTHERF*%KERS!!! Do they even test this crap out before releasing it....

Anyway, who says Amata can't be killed... biggrin.gif

[*] Turn off AA
[*] Run in windowed mode

There's one gamer who uninstall the game, run disk cleanup & defrag. Reinstall and start new game. Works for him.

This is my way and you should try. The easiest. Restart your Vista. Many people use standby mode when they're not using so the next time you hit the power button. It straight gets in the window.
*
Running in windowed mode makes the game crash faster. Disabling AA makes no difference.

Well, it does help me with certain location.

I deliver lucy's letter to Arefu. On the way to the family's location. It crashed. So, I run windowed mode and got through.

Then when I wanna go through the tunnel to family's hideout. It crashed. Then i run full screen and got through.
*
To play a game in windowed mode just so it doesn't crash is a big no no for me since it kills the immersion. This is a big FAIL on Bethesda's part for releasing this unstable game. I feel like a beta tester right now. It's a shame that a rich developer like Bethsoft failed to resolve these game issues before release. Now people are screaming at them. There are some who can't even start the freaking game while others are having problems with VATS or activating the PIPBOY. Crash to desktop, computer hang, 1 FPS syndrome, performance deterioration...damn this game's got it all. A good game marred by instability issues, a big headache for gamers. haiyahhh

I would have preferred the game to be buggy than to be unstable. At least I can play the game without any interruptions.

Deathclaws are easy. All you need is a combat shotgun and a couple of headshots and they drop.

A group of Talon Mercs, now that's scary...

Anyone here has Star Paladin Cross as a party member? My god, she's freaking tough. She was still standing after going up against a dozen super mutants and Talos Mercs near the DC ruins while I was hastily taking stimpaks just to keep my sorry ass alive. She was swinging her super sledgehammer against super mutant masters and brutes and even got hit by 3 missiles and still managed to stay alive without any stimpaks in her inventory, +100 for the audacity and hardiness thumbup.gif

She also makes a good pack mule. I literally spam her inventory with junk.

Tell that to RL-2. f***ing idiot doesn't follow me when I jumped off the road across a foot tall rubble and instead decided to take the detour that would take it face to face with an enclave patrol and super mutants... which was WHY i took the shortcut in the first place!!! f***ing stupid AI.
*
Yeah, apparently the AI has some issues with jumping. They like taking detours which is annoying. Another thing I noticed was that Star Paladin Cross likes to pick up the weapons of fallen enemies and either use them or keep them (I was surprised to see Cross using a minigun since I didn't give her one). Do RL-2 pick up the weapons of fallen opponents as well?

Here's a screenshot of me and Cross in Minefield. I gave her an Enclave Power Helmet for safe keeping and she happily equipped it instead. LOL. Looks kinda goofy on her though...

I finished mine in 20++ hours while solving 15 side quests. How many side quests are there anyway?
*
No idea. All I know is that the side quests get pretty dull after a while. This game is all about EXPLORING!!!

On an unrelated subject, I think the voice actor for President Eden is pretty good. Better than the rest of the noob voice actors Bethesda hired.

haih felt so cheated..  mad.gif

i like VATS, i like that whole vast Wasteland feeling but i gotta say everyone got ripped off by the lame ending!  shakehead.gif

the last time i felt like this was when i finished NWN2 (Obsidian) & Vampire : Bloodlines (Troika).. oh well.
*
What happened to my promised 200 endings...Todd Howard I'm gonna hunt you down...Bethesda is FULL OF LIES

The ending was shallow, poorly written and boring. All endings were similar. There were only a few different lines of narration in between slides based on the player character's actions in the dying moments of the game (nothing mentioned about your actions throughout the course of the game). How pathetic!! A big budget developer like Bethesda can't even string up different endings. What about the consequences of my action in Megaton or what happened to the people I helped wayyy back in Big Town??? What's the point of replaying this game if the is no incentive in the end - not knowing the consequences of my action.

And what's wrong with Vampire Bloodlines? It's one of the best RPGs I've played in years. Bugginess aside, it's a masterpiece. If Fallout 3 followed the examples of VTMB, I would have worshiped every step Bethesda makes. Unfortunately, they screwed up BIG time...

u didn't feel the ending for Bloodlines was a HUGE letdown? after all that fuss looking for the Ankaran Sarcophagus..  sweat.gif
*
I wasn't disappointed by the endings at all. In fact I replayed the game a few times just to see all the different endings. Which ending did you get? Is it the one with all the C4s planted by Jack? Most people got that ending since they were curious as to what was actually inside the damn sarcophagus.

If I'm not mistaken there are 5 endings for VTMB. The Kuei-Jin ending was the best imo. I aided Ming Xiao in acquiring the sacred sarcophagus from the Camarilla and what did I get in return? BETRAYAL!!! She took the sarcophagus from my grasp and dumped me into the sea where I rot for a few hundred years in uncontrollable rage!!! ARGHHHHH!!! Bloody Asian vampires...

At least VTMB's endings had more substance than what Bethesda had concocted.

P/S - The idea of featuring Liberty Prime in F3 is a totally DUMB idea. It looked so ridiculous!!!
