Its very obvious that you are still judging this game from its prequels, and nobody said that this game sucks

Guess what? I find STALKER and STALKER CS are more fun to play than FO3. FO3 doesn't suck, it the result of how a company screwed up an original idea and concept and design by manually dumbing down with the purpose of maximizing corporate profit for console kids who have jackshit idea of what a tabletop RPG game is and taking away elements that makes the previous titles a true classic game (the isometric view, multiple choice and consequence based on your character's skills rather than relying on player's trigger happy reflex, turn-based yet challenging combat).
Another recent dumb down victim is Deus Ex
*"Stealth will now rely on a cover system rather than shadows, and damage will be dealt with by a very Call of Duty-style auto-heal." *

other than the typical fanboy who cannot accept the change of the gameplay..... hmm.gif
out of 1708 votes, fallout 3 received and average score of 9.2 from gamespot and out of 258 votes, fallout received an average of 8.3 score from the user votes of metacritic.

Jeff Gerstmann from Gamespot, was fired when he gave Kane & Lynch a 6 out of 10 score.
Just because a game received a high score doesn't mean it's a game game. Game journalism has hit the bottom down recently and bullied by game publisher. If you don't give a good score to a game, you won't have access to the future titles of that company. No games, no review, no job, no money. Simple.

QUOTE(MYNAMEISJASON @ Nov 2 2008, 12:31 PM)
This clearly show that you people are truly biased in reviewing and calling fallout 3 a bad game just because you don't like the game. I also believe this thread is for healthy discussion for the game and not for flaming the game for its weaknesses(even the old fallout's weren't perfect), if you don't like the game, keep it for yourself and refrain from calling the game a piece of junk.

If I want to give a review score to Fallout 3, it's 5 out of 10. For it is a medicore first person shooter with uninspired in game mechanic. The game it not junk, it is really, really bad. From a perspective of a first person shooter gamer.
From a perspective of a RPG player, it's only a medicore 'RPG' game compare to The Witcher and Gothic 3.

calling the game a piece of junk

Fallout 3 is developed with the aim on a Console machine. And the last console Fallout game ever released is Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel, or Fallout: Piece of Shit among Fallout fans. See the odds?

Btw mods are already out to fix this game and you can find some some mods at http://www.fallout3nexus.com/ smile.gif

Game modification has the purpose to add more fun element, rather than fixing the game play bug a game developer suppose to fix.

Im just gonna get the game then. The more i read, the more curious to find out who is right.

The fans or the devs? Is Beth that shitty?

Im gonna play RA3,Witcher and Deadspace along with F3.So that i'll get a less biased view.Maybe find some way to get F1 and F2.

Curiosity is killing me now.

hmmm no point letting your anger online,so you dont like the game then just sell it off la,that if you ever bought the game that is..
maybe some people will find the game unlikeable but still there is always others who truly enjoy the games..
bragging, cursing or even whining more then few times is just a little annoying, just mention it one time and people will get your point and its up to them to buy the games or not..
for me oblivion is not my kindda games, but fallout 3 is still in testing period, which im still neutral bout it..if i dont like it then i might sell this games or just stuff it away in my collection..

Jeff Gerstmann was fired, that I know, but the score I am displaying are user votes, not scores given by websites. I understand what you mean and I have a great deal of respect of to Jeff Gerstmann. I have to agree to you that gaming journalism has been truly at its bottom recently.

That is why Gothic 3 never had the popularity Oblivion received though, it was quite broken at released and slowly became better after tons of patches but it failed to have a very strong modding community. Regardless whether mods are made to enhanced the experience, I still believe mods meant to fix some of flaws of the game. However, I do believe that Beth is making a huge mistake not releasing the tools for Fallout 3 earlier though.

*Students of Fallout 3 was a good read though, kinda reminded me of the old days playing the old X-com biggrin.gif

Was playing Fallout Tactics until last week, when I couldn't get thru a level due to some bug that crashes the game whenever I open a certain door. It was already Mission 16 dammit, only a few more to go. Couldn't find the fix for it anywhere, so I gave up.

Started playing Fallout 1 2 days ago, already got Ian, Tyco and Dogmeat as companions. Now in The Hub town. The quests and side-quests there are aplenty and I wish there's a quest log system in Pipboy so I can keep track of it. There's so many NPC here until I get confused.

From what I read on the web, Fallout 3 seems to crash very often. I hope it only happens on those who bought pirated ones.

Sneaking doesn't work, or is it me?

Crashing? Well hell, it happens to me sometimes. Still manage to finish the game today. Kinda disappoint with the ending though so don't expect much. Btw, it's 2-1-6 if anyone panic at the end.

First crash happen after I exchange my loots for caps, too much of it.
Second crash happen when I was turning too fast, Gary was behind me. (The npc at rivet city)

Loading screen froze after *spoiler* dad and dr li met in rivet city.

**SPOILER**
Kinda regret when I nuked Megaton.

Bugs can be fixed but shitty design is forever

Relying on fans to put out a patch to fix the bugs of a game is a sign of laziness for game developer. Unless they are closed down and no more official support from them.

Here's another fine example why FO3 is not well-liked by Fallout fans.
When Doom 3 was released, some of the hardcore fans criticize the game had turned into a corridor shooter, which is unlike previous Doom titles which involves large amounts of enemies, large, open areas, and various hidden rooms.
The next year Half life was released and it is still one of the highest rated FPS game. Valve knew they cannot go toe-to-toe with id's software so rather focusing on graphic, they introduce physical gameplay element which took FPS game to the next level.
Valve could just release a Half-life game with adrenaline pumping and tons of monster to shoot, but they know that's not what makes Half Life unique among other FPS game out there. Valve hasn't release a new graphic engine since HL2. They improved it step-by-step. And the rest of the story is history.

Compare the above story with Bethesda and you get the idea why Bethesda so called 'next-gen' and 'immersion' are nothing but marketing gimmick to push their product by sacrificing what makes a game truly memorable - the gameplay.
Example: Tetris doesn't have shiny graphic when it was released yet it became a worldwide phenomenon due to its gameplay. smile.gif

No worries, there are settings. In default, every door you pass through will trigger auto save.

This game is not as fun as the previous Fallout version. The movement of 3rd person view is buggy.. exploring the world is kinda hard compared with last time.. i dont know what to say anymore.. there is like words everywhere.. no more color images of the weapons, armors, etc.. i dont mind if they changed the gameplay but at least they should fix the movement of the character and make it something like GTA.. sleep.gif
