Just a small doubted here. I'm recently reading about finance and economics online and came across the "401(k) plan" for retirement. Since most reading sources online are usually U.S-based, I'm wondering if the 401(k) in U.S is equivalent to our EPF in Malaysia?

Yes it's more like private EPF fund and not similar to pension

because given the chance, 1malaysians have all sort of reasons to withdraw. The EPF account owner has self discipline doesn't mean people surrounding him/her also think the same.
