Guys, i humbly ask for your assistance and advice on what guitar (strat) i should get for a beginner. My budget is 2k (max including a amp for my room)..

The songs that i keen to play are Basic rock songs (without the solos-yet), pop songs for learning chords, soft rock and soft pop, oldies and just goreng solos

Im eyeing on this guitar for now..any opinions on this model? Thank you in advance

if budget squier, i would choose this instead.
https://www.musicbliss.com.my/electric-guit...price&order=ASC

the humbucker at the bridge for me is more desirable, and its also rm200 cheaper...as the surf strat u showed is just paying extra just for those duncan designed with 'lipstick' like pickup covers.
unless of cos u want to be like hank marvin tongue.gif

yup i prefer this one too, got both humbucker and single coil. allow you to be more versatile. but OP, those types of music suit single coil pickup guitars. not sure how that particular squier sounds like though. for the amp,are u planning to buy a small one, like a 40 watt? i think it should be enough.

I wouldnt get the Squier Surf, the pickups are very low output and isnt very strat like, not really versatile. Only go for it if youre after that surf sound.

Other than Squiers you can visit to the guitar store in cheras and have a look at their range, some Cort guitars there are to me better build than Squiers in the similar price range

the CV's are atm what i consider the best guitar for the budget in the market this point in time but it depends on what you need, those guitars you mentioned are SS's so you wont have very high output to boot. its great if you want to have this clean, twangy strat thing going on with it but if you wanna do some hard rock (led zeppelin) may want to check out something with least 1 humbucker

CV's are actually quite underpriced, give it a name change and some hardware swaps people would be paying 10k for it

also, if your budget is tight, maybe you could consider to purchase just a decent guitar at a good price, and purchase a Zoom G3n. it has multiple amp/cabinet emulators and also a looper. it's priced at rm700+ i think.

Guys, i went to Swee Lee lot 10 and tried out multiple guitars..and ended up putting a deposit for this guitar below. I like the sound produced from the humbucker pickup, its cheap and an all rounder guitar for a beginner..thanks guys for your inputs and advices (and also helping me to save a few bucks by telling not to go for the classic vibe which is rm600 more than this) cheers icon_rolleyes.gif biggrin.gif

Nowww, to choose an amp...........

i recently bought the blackstar fly 3 and i think its a good amp for the price and size. i only play my guitar in my room with reasonably slow volume (or plugged in with headphone sometimes) so it is more than enough for me at the moment.

Coz it's Fender

Call it Timmy Jones guitars and put a bit better hardware and folks will fall for it

After all you have people paying 4k to turn gibsons into epis
