Yes, im going to 1u to shoot a fashion show which is on tomorrow. Im brining my bro's 350D and his 430EX along to shoot. Im wondering, what is the normal setting for the flash and the camera? should i just go "P" all the way or play with the aperture with a fixed shutter speed setting? im confused about how the camera and flash play along the way.

Any sifus here knows how to fix this problem? Yeah i will only bring the kit lens along and the E-500 and the 40-150 telephoto lens too

eh you must understand that the fashion show is held at the Oval, which has a transparent roof (whatever you call that).

so going there at noon and at night, the lightings are different. then there's the light setup around the area.

then of course, your positioning and stuff.

i would suggest you go earlier and test out the settings.

i did my shots without flash. 350D as well, not so nice position too. just go earlier la and plan out what kind of shots you want.

goldfries: the shoot is at night right? im thinking of going there earlier too, jsut to get the right position and do the settings right.

mememe12: I know how to set the white balance already cuz im brining a "grey card" along, just trying to get the white balance right(well, at least try to get it right). just that i really dont know how to work the flash and the cam together. That's why i pop this question.

If you put to P mode, your shutter is automatically set to 1/60.

What lens are you using with the 350D and it's aperture range?

yeah, it's like disco.

the lights are not consistent. after observing a while, i noticed that there are some spots where they light up the model's face the most, some spots they're really dark.

so take note of the lights when the show starts and snap when they're around the correct spot, that should give you better lighting.

those with flash shouldn't have a problem i think, or at least lesser problem that us without flash.

8?the aperture opening is smaller which reduced the amount of light into your sensor.

I just you'll just have to be content with P mode smile.gif

why would you need to try every mode? they all operate with the same basics in mind, Manual mode would cover all of it, it's about how much you understand your camera.

Added on April 22, 2007, 3:22 amI knew there's gonna be some LYN members shooting in one U when i was there this afternoon. i was sort of betting with my gf that if i shout out who's from LYN , i'm sure i can at least get 5 of them..
