Now we need signature priority banking world master card to enjoy unlimited free airport lounge access? Which is by invitation only
*
once you have fund inside (for priority banking), i guess you can contact CS to "invite" you for the card.
nevertheless, for priority banking, isn't that other bank offering better card, such as those with loungekey?

Good to know that. Mind to tell how much Ringgit was charged for PPL HONG KONG for main+supp?
*
RM105 as mentioned in T&C, if you failed to meet the required spend

The only "benefit" left for me is their sub-card eligible to enter PPL. I have 2 sub-cards for my parents to enjoy free lounge while flying. Likely to pay for SST solely for this reason (yet they still need to spend RM500 per visit). Will get rid of this card once I found a better one.

Hi, I would like to ask for the am visa signature card, can i use it in hkia plaza premium lounge for friend's entrance? ie different name from passport. I have another mbb card to gain entrance myself. Tq
*
Usually ok, but sometimes depend on the reception staff.
If they don't allow, go to another PPL (there are 2 in HKIA)
Make sure they swipe the AMB first before MBB tongue.gif

Hi, can shed some light on this tips?
*
Actually my statement is rather misleading.
It should be:
Swipe for your friend first (ie using AMB), if allow enter, only swipe for yourself (ie using MBB).

i went through both infinite and world card for ambank

seems like there is not much different on both.
*
Yea, quite equivalent.
However, MC tend to have better conversion rate compare to Visa, when spending in foreign currency.
Also, last time AMB did have miles promo only for WMC.
Too bad I apply the wrong one.

If you intend to apply only one / keep one, I will suggest WMC.
Don't blame me if AMB have promo for VI next round tongue.gif

That's very fast.
My krisflyer only credited after 3 weeks!
Compare to redemption from Maybank, in 3 days...

Just tried using Ambank world mastercard at plaza premier lounge level 2m, was told that cannot use it here, only in the smaller lounge in international departure, level 2.

This is sad considering that lounge is smaller compared to the one outside here.

Also not applicable if you are on Domestic departure.
*
Where is "here"?
I am assuming you are referring to KLIA2.
Yes, it is not in the list.
Always refer to:

Recent spending in SG I was charged the following surcharge when I calculated backwards @@
HSBC WM - 2.5%
Citi PM - 3%
Ambank WM - 0.2% WOW
*
All or only 1 transaction?
There is once I was also charged only 0.25% when using Maybank.
Not sure if typing error (missed out 1 digit) or some bug while processing or some bonus from bank tongue.gif

Almost all foreign transaction I was charged 2.25% (HSBC VS, MBB VI) and 2% (AMB VI).
If not mistaken, AMB WMC has slightly better rate (but not 0.2% la)

Has anyone ever purchased from senQ using AmBonus point? How does that work ? Just need to present the credit card and they can read how many points we have in our account? Do they combine points from principal + supplementary card?
*
You better redeem NOW!
By 1-Oct, the rate will gone up to 400 points to RM1 (compare to 200 points for now).
Never use before, but I believe it is just like using 'cash' to offset the amount.

Is there big difference between world master and visa infinite?

I don't see any difference and want to cancel one of them to avoid the sst
*
WMC will gives slightly better foreign exchange rate compare to VI
Unless you want some privileges from Visa, else just cancel it

Hi guys., any of you tried ambank visa signature with plaza premium lounge? Hong Kong. Charged to card first? The front desk said no ocntract
*
Went into HKIA PPL several times with AMB VI.
Just swipe your card but won't charge you unless you didn't fulfill the RM500 requirement.
Make sure you enter the correct lounge, there are many lounges there.

PPL terminal 1, departure, level 7, near gate 40. I saw it's in the list. Anyway I have paid for that hkd 490.  The rest entrances I used maybank cards, easy.

I have spent more than 1k for the past 30 days. And all no BonusLink bonus (am using BonusLink visa signature) even food, shell etc lol. Terrible ambank.
*
Yes, that's the one.
Too bad, HKD490 is A LOT!
Call CS and try to claim it back.

A few years ago when I first use AMB in HKIA, they also claimed that it was not eligible.
Asked them to check the list and found it, then ok.

If your son is old enough (not sure 16 or 18), get him a supp card. AMB is one of the few banks allowing supp card to enter PPL.
Else get other cards (for yourself), you can sign for his entry as long as both cards from different banks.

I do have the M2P and BP, and I know how to (In fact, there's free 60k Enrich Miles now anyone can get if you know how to apply for CIMB Enrich card and use BP).

But for overseas spending, AMB WMC vs M2P Visa, AMB is still better right due to the lower forex rate? (Though AMB gives you 1 mile = RM1.40 overseas spend, whereas M2P gives you 1 mile = RM0.90).

Do you know how much is M2P forex markup? I think should be at least 2%?

EDIT: Nvm, I get what you're saying. Topup BP with M2P, then spend BP whilst overseas  thumbsup.gif Only thing is the 10k limit which sometimes isn't enough, so my question above still stands, which is better just using the card alone?
*
M2P - VI = 2.25%; Amex = 2.5%
Yea, I was using AMB until their devaluation.
Note: AMB 1% only applicable for WMC; VI is 2%

Yeah, but I'm quite sure the retention department may call me soon. I don't think I will turn back because I really hardly use their card unless got any promo like previously Sushi Tei promo. laugh.gif
*
Please tell them you cancel the card due to devaluation of their points. Hopefully they may improve the benefits next round.

Yeah I've been racking up huge amounts of overseas spend on AMB WMC last few years, but disappointed by the recent devaluation.
What card did you switch to for overseas spend?

Btw, Amex converts to USD first, then converts to MYR + 2.5%, so it ends up even higher.
*
Using M2P VI all the way.
Still keep my AMB though, the only card eligible supp card to enter PPL.

Both aren't that good anymore since they changed the PPL benefit.

Agree, but i still keep it as a backup card for overseas PPL use (when other bank entry is exhausted).
Also, supp for my parents to enter PPL too.

If you found one let me know (that does not require priority banking)
*
MBB VI shall be the closest in term of PPL entry
Besides those with Priority Pass / equivalent, MBB has the most lounge access.
AMB is second to it.
Nevertheless, AMB has no AF (but require RM500 spending), and supp card is allowed for AMB.
HBSC is another good choice if you fly frequent via Changi & HKIA.

QUOTE(limeuu @ Apr 4 2019, 11:55 PM)
it depends on your needs....

ambank is basically an international card, only usable for international flights....and has a wide range of lounges all over the world....but no domestic use....

rhb allows only msian lounges, but allows usage for domestic travels at ppl gateway....
*
The main purpose for lounge access is to encourage us to bring along their card while travel overseas (else you tend to minimize your card while travel).
Once you bring along, chances of overseas spending will increase.
Hence, most of those offering PPL are high end CC (more likely go travel).
And that's why bank will tend to cut local PPL usage (which defeat their purpose).
