QUOTE(ryansxs @ Mar 19 2025, 02:14 PM) wise use close to google exchange rate. cc use the bank rate. No, mostly use VISA/Master rate + % markup I frequently use my Enrich Infinite so I verified it, it follows Visa rate for that day +1% markup, which isn't that bad, I use it to get RM1:1 mile https://www.visa.com.my/support/consumer/tr...calculator.htmlJust use this and set the bank fee to 1% to find out the exact amount that you'll be charged

QUOTE(ryansxs @ Mar 19 2025, 03:34 PM) AFAIK, local bank rate is better than international bank rate. you can try. All card issuers will use VISA / MC rate as the benchmark when determining the final charge for overseas transactions. Have nearly 100 AMBank transactions as reference and the final charge using VISA calculator is correct (with occasional plus/minus 0.01 difference due to rounding) after 1% markup. QUOTE(ryansxs @ Mar 19 2025, 08:49 PM) the markup makes the difference. have you compared, the same day transaction with 2 cards, one with international bank and one with local bank? both visa. The markup rates are mentioned in respective card issuer T&C. From my previous analysis - note that some of the local banks / international bank mentioned x% as the markup rate but in reality there are other fees or rates used internally thus it is not whatever % they claim. Analysis used the same merchant transaction date and currency - comparison made using the declared markup rate against the actual charge. I can name an international FI that rides on VISA but the rate they charge is much lower than our local banks. So it depends on the FI (local or international) on how much they want to make from their customers. This post has been edited by hye: Mar 19 2025, 09:47 PM

Anybody downgraded Enrich Infinite to Platinum before to avoid the 2nd year annual fee? Have to do it before the annual fee appears in statement or can do it after?

Cannot downgrade. u need to re-apply. the problem is may not get approval since u still holding Infinite. Plus, within 6 month after cancel card may applied. High chance will get rejected
