I was just wondering when do we get a grounded feudal Japan considering they don't localise the Yakuza period games. Excited for this though just contemplating what kind of combat will we see here?

The Mongolians need to speak in Mongolian for it to be perfect even if the story is that they've learned the Japanese language to invade them. There needs to be a Mongolian accent, which wasn't present in this trailer.

Is this another Dark Souls/Bloodborne type of combat game? The game blows me away with the style and visuals but if the combat is like the aforementioned games, I would have to forgo this as I can never seem to git gud

Seems like not a lot of hype for this game

Played a couple of hours last night , visually it is very clean but I don't think it is on par with last of us 2 .

The foliage , trees and atmosphere are certainly very well presented , especially with how they flow with the wind .
A lot of fire and explosion too due to the war theme , I was completely immersed within the atmosphere of the game .

Something is off with the HDR. A lot of " pop " in the game but the moonlight , or even the moonlight reflection are far too bright in the game .
Game is making use of very dark and saturated colors , in contrast the moon is almost as bright as the sun , kinda spoiling the mood .



I like the combat system but it is not as responsive as I expect it to be , there is animation delay upon pressing the blocking button. The targetting system is wonky as well .

What I really like is the Mongolian invading Japan setting , would buy the game just for the Samurai vs Mongol warrior theme .

Played a couple of hours earlier doing side missions, quite like it.

I still think Death Stranding has the best in-game environment considering everything, not GOTY but it there is a category for environment its DS hands down

my issue with the game was that at times the sun was too bright until i cannot c anything. Anyone faced this issue?

It doesn't mean I can manually edit the HDR metadata packed within the game , that will require a lot more than just display calibration .

You would need to either hack the game or have tool kits from the game developer .


The purposes of HDR is to mimic what human eyes can see and portray realism .

Just because it has " pop " doesn't mean it is adequate . Sometimes the effect need to remain subtle to provide immersion.

In this case, I think suckerpunch done a decent job but not nearly as matured as what we seen from the likes of Death Stranding .
Reflection from Moonlight shouldn't be so dazzlingly bright to begin with .

Kinda hard to get perfect parry. Feels sluggish not like the likes of sw fallen order for example

Not a game if you want to button mash though..

Need to parry and then attack..quite frustrating at first just need to keep at it

Yep its similar to that. Can't simply go charging in.

Parry or Block first then followed by succession of quick attacks then only last heavy attack. Make sure you dodge too. Useful when up against Mongol leader duels..

Make sure u complete the first act and upgrade some techniques first before u start doing side quests.

My bad this was due to input lag. After setting the tv to game mode now parrying is not sluggish

freeze when the peasant showing me sensei ishikawa dojo,
then i cannot move..
i loaded two times still the same


then only realize i need to point upwards and inspect the dojo




btw i like there is no hud when riding in the open world

I read dev said Eng is the original language for the game. That's why the Eng VO for Jin is actually Japanese but they force him to use the Jap accent when speaking Engrish. Some other characters also are Japanese but speak with Engrish accent too.

Also got nice One Piece trivia in the game. Because Jap VO is actually Zorro, there is a NPC that wears straw hat and is the leader of a straw hat clan, Jin say he cannot be the leader of the straw hat. I find that very interesting!

Honestly I am not even remotely interested to reply to silly thread like this .

But I am going to make an exception this time , because I have found a random idiot who knows nothing about TV is challenging me to some silly reddit response .


First of all , this guy is talking about a separate issue , where the HDR is too dark .
I , on the other hand is talking about how they made a certain object's brighness too high .
However , the overall HDR performance of the game is certainly not too bright but there are certain objects are , as pointed in my last post .


If you attempt to lower these setting in the HDR setting , it will affect the overall performance of the HDR as a whole , where the peak brightness of other objects like Sunlight and torch will also be lowered .
And to rectify this You would need access to the game HDR metadata so you can adjust the brightness value of these object separately . Directly adjusting the numbers on the HDR settings will mess up the whole experience altogether .

I was explaining things to you nicely ( from the H.E forum to here) , doesn't look like I am getting close to knocking that thick skull of yours .

Perhaps you are holding grudge because I have pointed out how absurb (and foolish) your obsession with TV settings without calibration tool are ? Or maybe you just have too much times on your hand .
Don't tell or explain to me , I don't know and certainly DGAF .

Loving the game so far, very immersive since there's no mini map and the combat is very fluid; watching combat gameplay on youtube doesn't cut it ... the moment during standoff when you slice your foes down, the perfect parries, perfect evasion and counter with a heavy attack, stealth mechanics and the endless customization options ...

bros , I just saved sensei and now I, an honorable samurai found out his prodigy student is a traitor to the nation and we're suppose to hunt her now (wot?) ... did I mention arrow spamming isn't a thing here too with trajectory angles.

Combine it with Gosaku armor seems OP as hell.
Been doing side quests as I don't want to finish the game fast. Taking my time and enjoying the game world

This game... I thought it's suppose to be harder at the start of Act 2. Wish there's a one kill mode or something, where everyone dies in 1 hit including you. Feel like an invisible samurai now.

i'm in act 2 now and started to feel a bit repetitive and boring, the story is all right but the side quests have no variety, mostly go here and there kill mongols, or maybe track some murder scene and kill more mongols, maybe i need to switch up the difficulty, normal mode seem pretty invincible now, or i comparing too much with witcher in term of story and world.
