Hi sifus and bros.
i'm renting out my condo and today an agent found a Vietnam lady who wants to rent, plus urgently wants to move in tomorrow.
to me, this is too rushing, as i said i would like a few days to clear up and do some little repair works. but it seems the agent says the lady wants to move in tomorrow, as her parents are flying in from vietnam and needs a place to stay.
Agent goes on saying this lady will be staying with the parents, and apprently sometimes the "boyfriend" will stay as well.
I did get a copy of the lady's passport and permit which shows her occupation here as a "cleaner"

Now, my take on this...i'm not going to play ignorant on this whole deal and not to disrespect anyone. It's just risk assessment in place.
The vietnam lady is obviously not working as a cleaner, and she is not the one who will pay the bills. I know the guy behind the scene will be the one paying bills, especially the advance deposit, etc. Just that if the agreement is not in his name, that means he doesn't want to stamp his name and get traced later one. And he could be doing some hanky panky business, which is abundance in kl/my.

I told them we could not do next day intake, and we need a few days to clear out, plus we need to vet thru their agreement forms and not rush things. Somehow, it's tingling my spidey sense on this one.

Any bros here who encountered such situation and can advice better? Can agreement on rental put this lady(cleaner) in? cleaning in MY will not enable her to pay the rent. (pls this is not meant to offend anyone)

Cheers!

I normally wont rent to anyone who wants to move in immediately - are they being evicted or are they running away from their current
rented premises?

Secondly, do you think she can afford to pay for the rental as a cleaner ?

Quite a few red flags - so for me I will pass

Sounds very suspicious indeed...save yourself the trouble later on and find another tenant
