Hi.. I would like to ask something related to grill.
I just install a new grill at my condo... My condo has no balcony. I installed grill on the window for safety as I have small kids. I got permission from management. However, they didn't tell me beforehand that there is a specific design to follow.
After I install, the management came to inspect (in order to return my depo). Then only they informed me that there is specific design that I have to follow... Now they are demanding me to remove the existing grill and reinstall with the new approved design.. I already spend more than 8k. Also, I wasn't informed by the management about the design before I started the Reno.
What should I do?

As far as I have noticed, management has no jurisdiction on what you install inside your unit, as long as it does not change the external façade of the building. Imagine management specifying what type of curtains you can install, or what colour to paint your rooms. I just install a new grill at my condo... My condo has no balcony. They can however ask you to change the front door grille, as it leads to a common area. This is usually the only grille they have jurisdiction over.
You also should not need to allow access into your unit. Ask for your deposit back, and tell them to inspect the surrounding area for compliance (no trash, clean, no damages, etc) to the permit you applied for. Unfortunately there are a lot of little Napoleons around, and you may have to escalate this issue to the Commissioner of Buildings for final resolution.
