i did test put in my sink while brush my teeth..so far no issue...just wipe after that...yes, IP68 rated as "dust tight" and protected against complete, continuous submersion in water..
*
Not more than 1.5 meter and definitely not continuous submersion. As stipulated by Samsung, not more than 30 minutes. Please provide correct information lest others not in the know are misled.

This is another pseudo hero who either does not bother to read diligently before feeding it here in the forum or whose English is just below par. And that's what I mean by misleading other forummers with inaccurate information. And what makes it worse is when they come back at you, still adamant that they are right..... rclxub.gif doh.gif

lol this fella...what so hard to understand continuous submersion? basic english...not even bombastic terms...u from cave is it? good..better seat there like a dog. it was a basic term daily use....need to define what...IP68 in the phone market already been so many years...its not like yesterday come out then today need to elaborate...

Look, since you want me to spell it out for you to show your idiocy, I will.

You in your earlier post stated that the device can be subject to continuous submersion which I then pointed out to Samsung's official advice that it cannot, as per my initial response. That statement of yours is vastly misleading and that's my point.

And when you rebutted, I asked you to define that statement which you, as usual, show your idiotic ways, not even realising the crux of your error and continue to make a fool of yourself. You were earlier chided by another forummer that being a TS, you should know your facts and not make silly observations which will mislead others, especially newbies.

I shan't go any further with you here seeing that you do not admit to mistakes, until you come out with yet another stupid statement which is detrimental to the knowledge of other forummers here.

Please dont jump on the bandwagon when you do not know the full background. It puts you in his level. Understand the actual situation before trying to be hero.

Sometimes it is difficult not to straighten such people up, much as we try to refrain. They are doing the community a disservice particular those who are are one tracked in their idiocy.

I got my Note 8 3 days ago from Maxis. I notice the finger print scanner got one piece of plastic/protector (very hard to see it by eyes). I checked with my friend, his pre-order Note 8 does not have that piece of plastic/protector. Is Samsung started putting the finger print scanner protector?
*
Just because you mentioned it, I checked my unit. You know what? I think there's a protector there. It's actually difficult to tell. And mine is a pre-order set. Happy to say the scanner works ok but like almost all phones, there are occasional misfires.

I believe it's because of this layer that there were many reports that the fingerprint scanner scratches easily.

I just buy the el-cheapo thinner case (0.38mm IINM). Hold nice in the hand. Just RM12.
*
I prefer thin cases. Am extremely careful with my gadgets so casings are just a prevention better than cure thingy. The thinner they are, the better for me. Mind sharing what case yours is and when can it be acquired?

Yes it is true that once the layer of protection has been removed, the finger print scanner does tend to scratch easily. I experienced it from my GS7 Edge. Now with the Note 8, I am careful not to meddle with it. Everyone who is a Note 8 user should take note NOT to peel it off.
*
That's not what I said.

Same reason as yours. RM12 at Ustaz shop.

Thanks. I saw this before. The vendor was selling at RM20. I am using Vareo cases. Slim as well but silicon not tpu. Quality quite good. You should check it out.

Where's the nearest Ustaz outlet in PJ, you know?

Apologies for the misinterpretarion. Please do correct my statement. Thank you.
*
I believe it's the layer of protection that scratches easily and because not many know about it, hence the complaints. Whether the fingerprint scanner suffers the same fate, I don't know. In any event, that's just my speculation in view of this latest discovery.

Are we actually making the previous buyers sad, with the discussion we have now? *shy*
*
It is what it is. Nothing for us to be sad about. And for the pre-order buyers, at least we have the +1 year warranty with the screen protection.

Check out the Vareo cases at their outlets. They also have kiosks in several shopping complexes. Quite good quality and value for money.

Hopefully this is as good a TG SP as it looks after application. Yeah, please do share, after you have applied, how it is.

From where did you get it?

I stop buying Samsung flagship due to curve screen. Hopefully, they will release non-curve version in the future as option.
*
But then, aren't most flagship phones these days with curved screen? At least those, IMO, worth owning.

I just discovered something which could explain a thing about the sensitivity of the TG SP you are using.

Got a cheap case today, for the heck of it cos it looked nice. After putting it on, realised that the sides go all the way to the SP, just touching but not lifting the latter. Using other cases, there is a gap of about 1 mm. Then as I was texting I noticed on certain areas, my taps don't register as cleanly meaning the sensitivity of the SP is degraded.

So, I changed to another case which does not touch the edges/sides of the TG SP and what do you know? I do not experience the problem anymore. Do not know whether it's the case(pun intended) of the casing touching the SP, albeit just slightly but lifting it just enough but not visible to the naked eyes, to cause the issue. Anyway, this is my experience and I am sharing for you guys to take note and perhaps save those expensive SPs by changing the case before discarding the former.
