Are you making a sweeping statement here ?
I don't use Facebook n replace it with swipe for Facebook app . No crashes either
Androids I had used since last year : v20, g6, v30, s8+, Mate9, 10, mi mix, max, u11, xzp, note fe, op3t, op5t etc

Sometimes I think app crashes are due to interference from 3rd party unofficial app installed from other sources
All my app are 100% from play store n I am careful too installing some from unknown apk shared at especially xda forums. Had stayed away from such more than 3 years ago. Even I am surprised Samsung had in it's library terrible app such as cleanmaster which only causes more harm to phone through sharing out of personal data to CM servers. This app is openly condem by many users on the web
