I'm still using a old Samsung Galaxy Note 3, thinking to get a new phone currently. Is the Note FE a good buy compared to other brand's new phone with roughly same range of price (not more than RM3000)?

Why not you get a Huawei phone.

I think you will get some hassle when checking in planes.

Bear in mind that you need to take out your phone casing to shows the "Note FE" if they dont buy it when you showing them the "About This Phone" in setting.

if not.. dont.. get Mate 10 instead.. or u can wait for HTC U11 Plus or Oneplus 5T..

Better get the latest model coz in your budget range like Mate 10(4GB RAM) or wait for Oneplus 5T(6/8GB RAM).
New model with better CPU, GPU & Camera.
If really need pen try find used set Note8, may be could nego at RM3k.

I'm worried if latest Android from samsung update will need 6GB RAM to run smooth. Like my Note Edge with 3GB RAM very slow(sometime hang/hot) with Android 6 but Xiaomi Note 4 running smooth with 3GB RAM. My Mate 8 (4GB RAM) run fast & cool with Android 7, Huawei support/update also very fast.

I actually pre booked the FE. But the day they called me to collect. I turned it down.

I had my note edge motherboard changed.
I like S pen and IR and HRM.

FE is a great great phone to own but no IR.
Nothing much has changed remarkably ( improvements). That's why I'm still sticking to the note edge.

If has big improvements please tell me. I would like to hear.

I hardly use the S pen actually. I don't play game, mainly browsing the web, check email, facebook, whatsapp, banking apps, share market apps, take photo etc...more like business use. That's why my Note3 can last till now...haha...

It seems that there are many Huawei supporter here, I never use Huawei phone and don't have friend using it as well. Could I know the pro and con if I want to get a Mate 10?

oh why, oh why.. only one brand got sylus pen, if others got I think we wont be just focussing one just one brand. sigh!

I'm still using Mate8, last time as backup phone from my Note Edge.
Now prefer Mate8 as main compare with Note Edge.
Mate 8 more stable than Note Edge, no slow/hang problem like my Note Edge.
Huawei software update like Samsung, very good if compare with LG, Xiaomi & Oneplus(my other family member phone)
My Mate8 run cooler than my Note Edge, Huawei UI also light(less RAM use) compare with Samsung.
My main concern is battery, my Mate8 can run for one & half day(until now after 1+year) compare my Note Edge only 6-8 hours only with new original battery. The body almost same, Mate8 safer compare with Note Edge coz the curve display.
I read the camera at Mate 10 as good as Note8/S8+, should be better than Note FE/7.

Supposed Note FE/7 comes with bigger battery(4000mAH) & 6GB RAM if want compete with Huawei Mate10.
I may be change/upgarde from my Mate 8 to Mate 10 Pro(try find used set on 2018), hopefully it can go to below RM2k.

Better watch & read some review in youtube.
See pro & cons & then, put your decision into it.
As for me, for that price range (<RM3k) i more prefer S8 plus.
If you don't use Spen, no point to use Note FE.

No more IR blaster from Samsung . I'm disappointed.

Value for money liao fe. If im in position to buy phone. For sure will grab it.

If one have pre-ordered it, then you get the extra warranty probably worth RM200+. And some online platform gives RM300 discount voucher. So you basically getting RM 500+ off so the FE net cost below RM 2100. And if you need the S Pen, then it's very good value.
