There are many scenarios in a project. Were you a manager in Dataprep before?
You have your rights to your own views, but since you were not the Project Manager or any manager in the company (i assume), then i think you are not at the liberty to comment.
As to the rest, why the hiring continues is probably due to manpower requirements and additional engagements.
