Cannot. Need 100k to get the maximum 4% interest.
See below.
It's not 50-100k get 4%

First 50k at 2%
Next 50k at 6%

E.g.
Deposit of 75k
(50k x 2% + 25k x 6%) / 75k
= 3.33%
*
sorry my bad. between 50-100k get 6%, but the effective rate is different when taking into account 50k @ 2%

Since so many questions on "how to calculate EIR" and so on, I prepare an overview chart of how much your deposit amount can get you monthly smile.gif

Just opened uob one account but the account number not reflected on uob tmwr. Should i wait tmr instead? I received sms if i open uob account i will get rm138 any term and criteria?
*
Hmm is that a randomly received SMS?

QUOTE(koja6049 @ Feb 23 2024, 07:11 PM)
you have transfer RM100 to the account number to activate it, only then it will show. BTW you missed out on a better deal, use code UNIFI during sign up will get RM388
*
Is this code still valid? Any page description on that? šŸ˜†

Planning to open UOB One, from their website now seems the best I could get is RM50 for new account opening + RM50 referral fee for another person who's existing customer.

Then for me this is too inflexible cos need to have 70k to 100k to get >3.2%, my ocbc 360 balance can range from 1k to 100k over the month.

lol thanks for the math class

so if u put in 100k - u get 4%

anything more than 100k to 125k, u get 2%.

so better to put max 100k only. anything more put in stg higher than 2%
*
Meaning if I have more than 100k, I shall put to other bank like RHB SMART / OCBC? I thought 125k effective rate is 3.6%, still higher than RHB smart / OCBC 360.. so Iā€™m confuse whether I should put the extra 25k in uob one or RHB better?

100k = 4%, next 25k = 2% which translates to effective rate of 3.6% for 125k

so if u have maxed out 100k at 4%, anything that gives more than 2% is better

Couldn't understand whether this has been addressed yet for UOB One account - the tiering discussion I did see.

Is the interest calculated daily rest or monthly average?

So if today I put 100k in and leave it till end of the month, will I earn 4% EIR on that 100k for each day remaining?

Or will it take the monthly average balance (RM0 x 8 days + RM100k x 23 days) of 74.1K and then give interest of 2% on the first 50k, 6% on the next 24k?

Hi all, for UOB 4% account,

1) how to link the credit card to the saving account?

2) if i open it today, how to count for six months for extra 2%? From 26/3/24 to 25/9/24 or just Mar24-Aug24?

3) for the criteria of transfer fresh fund to saving account of rm2k per month, can i withdraw it on that month? Or zero withdrawal for the month to fulfill the criteria?
