My friend has been harassed for days by calls claiming that they're from AmBank saying that there's an outstanding amount for a credit card that is being applied at the Klang branch during X/X/2020 date while my friend is not from that state and never been to Klang before.

I insisted that my friend to ignore the calls only.

But they're persistent and I asked my friend to just print the CCRIS report. If the stated card is valid, it'll be showed in the table in the CCRIS report.
However, my friend kept saying busy and no time to go to BNM etc.
Lastly, I asked my friend to just call AmBank official CS and check if my friend has any valid account/credit card with them.
At last, my friend rest relieved as the CS told him that he has no products with AmBank at all!

Let's be educated and stay calmed in dealing with this kind of situation.

Interesting to find out that upon confirmed with my friend that the calls receiver start with +603-9413XXXX

Wondering which area in Klang Valley starts with 9413? hmm.gif

Yeh, I would like to believe it too.

But there is a lot of detail in the story that is concerning in itself.

The thing I find most questionable is that it involved money being taken from 2 banks, but the victim is only going after 1 (after failing to get a refund). Victim should surely be going after 2 banks regardless of refund status, if both systems allowed the fund transfers so easily (supposedly without any information being given by the victim).

Not really telling how much is the rate, I'd expect on par with the standard privilege accounts i.e. not very high. But I guess someone out there that earns more than RM7k per month is going to be attracted by the "Digital Financials Dashboard" service.

-credit card can be applied at the booth as well.

Booth is attended by direct banker from Standard Chartered Bank (not agent)
