for pisang & others.

1. Hacker used the owner's lazada account to buy PS4 and games (The owner remember his payment method I guessed? Owner did explained that ge linked the paypal with his lazada account)
2. Owner contacted lazada to cancel the order. Lazada promised to help and an email will be send to the owner later. The owner stilll havent received the email until now.
3. Owner contacted bank to cancel his card (CC/DC ?) But since the payment is pending now, it sill have chance that the payment will success. Owner may need to bear the payement
4. Owner called the hacker (based on the receiver information I guessed) and hacker hang up the call.
5. Owner called paypal to cancel the payment (I quite confused with the bank and paypal. Did he paid by paypal or cc or dc?)
6. Owner reported to police. Basically police cannot take action as the the owner did not suffer loss of money currently and police think that lazada should take action against the hacker (as the account been hacked). Police also told owner to report to Ampang Police station Citibank HQ is in Ampang.

That's why I always thick on do not remember my information for the future order, even when I'm using my own computer.

Yes, many idiot just blindly remember my login, password, even card information. That's why lor.

More so, especially when you buy from a cyber cafe, anyone within the same network can potentially tap into your packet & steal your cookies & login on your behalf.

That's why you don't put in an automated payment mechanism for the sake of convenience. It's really Lazada's fault if they allow for such things. Customers come from all backgrounds, it's probably safe and easier to bucket them under "naive idiots". Most of these "naive idiots" would gleefully accept convenience despite weakening their data/online security. Hence you get these type of cases.

I only use the MOL payment scheme for Lazada. So it's pretty much impossible for anyone to abuse if the account gets hacked.
I even avoid Maybank debit to minimize my online footprin t& exposure because they use a 3rd party middleware to automate the payment (versus me manually logging into Maybank website).

P.S The Hacker was pretty stupid to think he could get away with, assuming that's really his adddress.
It could be an acquaintance's address.

chill la. if pulis/bank/lazada cannnot help, still can do something.
once item is delivered, quickly get tracking number and reroute the item.
or just ask lazada to change delivery address. recover the loss first, ps4 can resell.

standard answer

due to my nature of work, i have to lodge many police report to stop the transaction if I found out it is a fraud

standard answer given my inspector from commercial crime unit is that, you company haven't pay out, hence no loss incurred

hence case close

didn't even bother to call the party that tried to commit fraud

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought there's no such thing as this anymore? I remember reading news saying police reports are valid across Malaysia and not just the specific city/state. Apparently police will tell you that because they don't want/lazy to layan you?

Most likely pay with paypal that linked to CC.

Very simple, contact laz to cancel order, contact paypal to stop the payment, contact CC for fraud.

As long as 1 of them did the job, scammer can't get anything. But in the end, owner won't suffer anything as long as they use CC, besides the call charges.

easier to hack lazada account and add new shipping address than hacking CC. CC you need the security code, expiry date, full card number, and spoof the mobile number baru boleh go through
